Welcome to the IHoP
If anything, I think the number of people making 10-15 posts a day has gone up significantly, sure, they don't have a ton of posts yet, but they're adding up fast. Of course, there are posters with the intellect of "RL-i 8 Jones", but hey, you can't have it all

o-scoping amps can be dangerous...
Not all amplifiers have protection circuits... A no load condition is an infinite impedance, zero ohms would be a direct short I can't tell you what the actual mode of failure would be on a SS amp, I know on tube gear the output transformers saturate with no load connected, but will actually take damn near a direct short where most SS amps will fry. It's the opposite for most transistorized stuff, it seems.

LSQ Build
Unless you're building line arrays in your dash, I don't see how you're getting around having two sets of point sources playing the same material It's hard enough getting a single 3-way set staging properly, it's frankly going to be a tuning nightmare trying to get two sets working together in the same environment. And for really not much benefit at all.

Need a receiver
Do you really need a receiver? VA radio stations aren't that good

Re-read Nick's post again... There are people in here that have a heck of a lot more knowledge about speakers than you, give them a little credit

LSQ Build
I think you might want to re-think any notions about "SQ" and an 8kW subbass setup. Because it ain't happening

LSQ Build
Sealed, no question about it. The one thing you have going for it is that with two 18's, you'll need next to no mechanical movement to get enough output. One would be a whole lot more workable, and it's really all you'd need.

Re-paint something that needs to be done? Install attic vents? Organize and take back wasted space? Do trim work that's been bugging you?

Welcome to the IHoP
There's a '73 CB350 for sale a few miles from me for $200, not running, but who knows. I may go down there and see what's up with it, once my class is done in a few weeks I'll have nothing else to do, anyway, other than general maintenance shit around here. I could use a mechanical project to get into.

Welcome to the IHoP
Are there any places online to trust for grilling recipes, marinades, etc...? I've got a major craving for shrimp over pasta this weekend and need a good spicy marinade.

Give it a couple of weeks to break in the Romex and the new outlet. You will be very pleased with the results. The conditions that you described are indigative of new wire and a new outlet. Where is this stuff taught?

If getting out of holes is a priority, I'd rather be in a Unimog and those definitely won't win any drag races or dyno runs

A little lost
How much do you have to spend?

A little lost
You can run XLR cables between the crossover and amplifier, you'll need XLR to RCA adapters going from the crossover to whatever you're using as a line level preamp. What are you using for the other amp(s)?

Welcome to the IHoP
Out of all the uses I see for a F250 on 35's, going anywhere particularly fast is not one of them

Death Of The Internet
I can't watch the video here because I'm on 56k...a result of the choice between having a corporation coming out here to put in cable or being nickel & dimed for satellite service I love irony...

which choice for lsq
Drives me nuts when it's used in that context, it makes no sense if you think about it.
