  1. Yes it does denim! This is by far the best setup and cleanest fourm out there. Ill go as far to say its better than 99% of manufacture forums.
  2. If your looking for the best of both worlds the X-Cons perform amazingly. I really can say enough about them and when in the right enclosure they really pound. Im working with 3.3 cuft after displacement for each of my 15s and tuning at 30hz. Im able to get a 14 at the headrest and a 150 on the windshield. Mind you these are more sq oriented drivers so that to me is amazing not to mention it peaks at 43. Also im not putting full power to them at all so im sure with a true 3500w they would really be nasty.
  3. yeah it scared me a little too haha. nice little new years touch mark
  4. kicker, knu kolosses flex, and stinger HPM are my top choices. I use Stinger and love it the strand count is ridicules and the way they twist it makes the strands stay together for easy termination and putting into amps. Dollar for dollar welding supply cable is the way to go. Id use it for my main runs, big 3, and main grounds. If its a cosmetic issue use one of the first 3 listed to go to amps.
  5. I had my x-cons on 600-700wrms each for a long time and it does them plenty of justice man. When i went to the 3000d though it was another world. Went from a 147 on the windshield to a 150. Anyways here is a video of mine one a 1500D. http://www.youtube.com/user/MazdaCon
  6. Old rockfords are tough amps but you have to remember at the same time the components are old and the caps will be hating life. Just do what the manufacture recommends they are already underrated
  7. Good deal man thats some funny shit right there. Supposedly W3 15s and a JL 1000.1 ia louder than mysetup according to freemans car audio. Not to mention its twice what i paid for my stuff. World s afunny place gotta just sit back and take a good laugh.
  8. Gotta do some bracing With all-tread and a voltage regulator would probably help. Just dont want to burn my alternator up when i aint got the money to replace it. I guess im already giving it hell anyways.
  9. 4 50ah agms and 2 runs of 1/0 to the back. 2 1/0 grounds up front and 2 in the back with the battery bank. I usually hold around 12.8 so yes the voltage itsnt the greatest but i cant afford a HO alternator. Im working with about 3.4 cubes a sub at 30hz. Im thinking it was to trim the port down to up the tuning to say 35hz itss help alot and ill gain a good little bit of air space. Im really not wanting to loose much in the low end department but im sure at 35 itll still pound and be louder.
  10. Just wondering what you other guys with x-cons are metering. Im getting a 148 at the headrest and a flat 150 on the windshield. Im really wanting more now but im not sure what to do. any suggestions?
  11. Ive always just pulled the old carpet off. Pretty simple to me and usually only leaves the box a little hairy. I just spray some more 3m adhesive over it and lay new carpet down.
  12. Ill try and get her to put them up tomorrow.
  13. Wish there was a defined equation to figure it but there isnt to my knowledge. Design the box correctly and hope for the best results.
  14. you guys are so lucky..... i miss all the fun. wish more stuff happened in nc
  15. Nice build man looken real good so far. You going to NTI im at the mooresville, nc campus. only guessing that by your meter.
  16. hmm what email did you guys use? i tried but it wasnt working
  17. sending anemail out asap just got around to seeing this sorry it took so long. i hope mines still waiting.
  18. man id love to get 4 of these. anyone wanna buy 4 and trade me =P
  19. looken good jake. when you gonna let me test a pair of them out id really love too. you know you want too
  20. Ill have to get a new batch of pictures and a new video with the 3000d in. need to update my team page as well.
  21. eeeeh its toast man fuses are your best friend. My guess is the FETs got stuck in a closed position and that's why you saw the big drain until they melted
  22. if you plan on having a battery in the trunk then the only real need for the runs from front to back is to charge the the back battery. Unless your trying to squeeze every last once of current from the front battery.
  23. totally agree with denim. you have to make a choice between spl and sq. I will say though in terms of spl my x-cons whoop some ass and definitely provide more spl than my bl did sub for sub.
  24. if your going for a nightshade they love port area. dont go to big but dont go as small as you are.
  25. I wasn't sure about those, but I was told they were accurate so I included them. Are they wrong? I think I see They are wrong. Quad 4 : 1, 4 or 16 ohms. Quad 2 : 0.5, 2 or 8 ohms Quad 1 : 0.25, 1 or 4 ohms. Yeah, just referring to how it's nice to see a topic about impedance and not impedance rise. It's actually a reference for people that are too lazy do do some math on their own. The formulas for figuring out the final resistance are out there, these are just particular cases. Correct
