  1. nothing wrong with ssd's great woofer for the money man. spl wise they do alright but when stacked up to say bl's you will see a clear difference. also the possibility to use 4 ssd's if you choose to, you have the room like said in the previous post.
  2. yes he was as1 and i believe he was using a 30amp fuse at the time. the others may be correct one good single sub and a really good box will most likely be more efficient that trying to fit two.
  3. i had to get a spare battery when i had one. they tend to be pretty hungry but the do more than rate.
  4. trade you my 3000d for 2 of them?
  5. =[ should have shipped it to me haha
  6. sounds like the explorer they just built not to far back. got the link

had the same issue it got worse for me though. id say it has to do with the input section. from my knowledge that usually only have problems with pioneer decks bc of the output impedance.
  8. Welcome to SSA! where are you in NC
  9. congratz i never when shit you luck turd.
  10. you get what you pay for... motto always holds true.
  11. What are your goals?? I can put a wall in your car and run 4 15s for $7500 easy
  12. 46lbs sounds on the heavy side... is say mid to high 30s
  13. i have the kappa's and they sound very good for the price. I switched out the mid bass's to kicker SS's and it made a world of change. More authority and much more precise than the kappa mid bass. Wish i could get my hands on the matching tweeters too.
  14. good luck everyone!!
  15. most likely gonna have to build a big box with moderate port area. I think if you go to big with to much port area your gonna run an even bigger risk of damaging the driver. something like 9 cubes at 28hz with say 110-120sq/in of port
  16. What do you define as low 15? 20? 25? 30? Larger box size will allow for more low end extension but only so much. once you hit the drivers FS it'll unload and do harm. Power handling will also be greatly reduced with the larger box.
  17. From my general knowledge the motor structure is completely different between the two. Ive always felt that FI gives the customer the ability to fit there needs exactly for there intended application. When i think my AA i feel they are geared more towards the general consumer who wants to buy a sub and run with it. Not that im saying one is better than the other though.
  18. Iv owned both and both have there pros and cons. The BL is simply an amazing SPL woofer for the money simply put. The x-con is an amazing SQ woofer that will flat out amaze you with its ability to be accurate yet very loud. In my opinion the BL is slightly louder than the x-con but when it comes to the SQ part of the equation they are not close at all. If i was looking to do spl i would have got another BL but i love to sound good and be loud.
  19. I think to find your true frequency its trial and error as so many variables effect it. Right now mine is 44hz with my box tuning at 30hz. Say i tune my box to 35hz my frequency may shift upwards to say 50hz. Iv seen it happen like this before in many applications but it may not hold true in all cases. If you want to find your present resonance frequency find someone with a meter and run a sweep from say 80-20hz at half volume. If your using a TL itll tell you at what frequency it was loudest.
  20. Welcome to SSA man

Iv always wondered if you guys thought about making regular old t-shirts. Like say Team SSA or just SSA on the back with a small logo of a sub on the front or something. Just a thought i wouldn't mind having one or two.
  24. Iv had good and bad experiences. As for the Freemans car audio stores they are a bunch of over paid pricks. All they want to do is bad mouth everything other than JL. Not to mention the wanted 6-800 for a box for the x-cons which they also stated were hunks of shit. Anyways Tremorz Autosound is my place to go. Good people, friendly and far more knowledgeable than i am. I can hang out there and shoot the shit for hours and hes more than willing to help me out for free.
