I am still new to the SSA world, but just from reading this one topic and the way you guys ( ie the owners/builders of the SSA line) speak about your product and dedication to the industry. I cant wait to be a proud owner of your subs. With that said. This sub looks to be a monster, Cant wait to hear it and see it in action. Thanks for bringing the Dedication and Craftsmanship.

A pillar location Not just for tweets

Yes exactly that is what I was thinking a speaker located there about the size of a tach guage, Fiberglassed in nice and sweet to give it that nice molded look. The position I am in is how will it sound. Guess I wont know till I try it.

A pillar location Not just for tweets

Ya, I am wanting to work with it, just was wondering if anyone had use this type of application. I really like to hear what everyone has to say and get as much insight as I can before starting a project. Just so I can test with the most effieciency possible. Given my limited experience thus far with the car audio environment. I know it possible but it plausible to listen to the speakers in a given location not properly mounted or should I mount them where I want them listen to them if I dont like seek a new location. And work my way down the list that way.

A pillar location Not just for tweets

I have been getting a lot of opinions lately for sq subs, amps and setups. I was wondering, per a suggestion earlier, That if I ran 8's in my door for mid bass and a 3" woofer for mid range in kick panel with tweets in A pillar. Has anyone ever made a custom speaker pod in the A piller for a 3" or a 4 " woofer. And if so how does it sound, what are the trouble you run into with that kind of set up. I am trying to shy away from kick panels just cause I am a big guy and the kicks being so low I am afraid I will lose alot of imaging. But here is what I am afraid of putting the mid ranges in the a pillers, that it will be to splashy or high pitch and make your ears bleed with the reflections off the windshield. I dont have room in my doors for both the 8's and the midranges with out doing some major recontruction which I am wanting to stay away from as well. Thanks ahead of time for everyones opinions.

		Sound Quality

Ya, I am thinking about redoing my Dodge and making me a center console, taking out the middle seat part, and building me a good ported enclosure. So was trying to get opinions, I was wondering if a DVC 4 ohm or 2 ohm voice coil made a realy difference in the sound quality. I know it will draw more on the amp, but are the 2 ohm set up a little heavier/stiff than the 4 ohm versions. Personally I dont like kicker, I have polks right now single vc they are pretty good sounding, just wanted to switch to single 12 dvc, In the end I will probably end up changing my entire set up. I am leaning towards the Icon's everything I have heard about them is good good good. Anyone have an opinion on say 4 8's versus 1 12, I can get a real deal on dvc 8's but I am not sure they can get down low as I want them 2.

		Sound Quality

Just wanted to get an opinion on the best SQ 8's 10's or 12's. I have limited experience with anything above the 200 dollar a sub range. For the sake of arguement lets use a small enclosure 1.5 cubes or less. With 1kw or less

5.25 Mid range looking to change

Cool Deal Ill have to check into the amp situation, Thanks again guys I am sure Ill have some more question when the time comes for wiring and speaker choices
-

		who really makes these amps?

To me the Board design may be the same but the quality of the individual components make a huge difference. Lets take for a expample a simple resister. If the rating is 2 low on the resister it burns or lowers the effiency of the over all product and your talking a 20 cent resister that could have spent 25 on got better quailty. I am sure both amps use quality parts, sometimes its just some minor difference that make a world of difference.

5.25 Mid range looking to change

Cool I was thinking along that line but was not considering there would be no bass coming from the 3"/4" in speakers. I can now see why it can keep up with it. So my next question in this series is, With the set up on amps I have now, A mono block and a 4 channel, what is the best way to wire the speakers. I am running active tweets and mids right now on seperate channels. And the subs of course on there own. If I add the 8's for mid bass and a 3 or 4 in for midrange and still have my 1" tweets up front do I run one channel for midbass one , one channel for tweets and 2 chanels for midrange. I may be overthinking this. Thanks for your help with this I am really wanting a great front stage. Money is the only real constraint I have. modifications and work part of it I love doing. Just as a reiterations the head unit has active 3 way crossover with variable slope up to 18 db,

5.25 Mid range looking to change

Cool I was thinking, the volume of sound versus the other speakers. With the subs and the 8s was afraid that the midranges would be drowned out the 2 5.25 sound good but sometimes they get drowned out by the bass I have now.

5.25 Mid range looking to change

Cool deal So should I run 2 3" or 2 4" to a kick panel. I have no idea what a good 3 or 4 in would be, nor a midbass that is slim enough to fit in the door I can make the whole work but not sure about the depth is there any shallow 8's out there. I start research the 8's myself also. Thanks for the tip.

I have a 4 channel amp the fronts on my rca's are going to my tweets ran through the amp, my head unit has active 3 way crossover it has a variable slope of 6, 12 or 18 they are crossed over @ 3500 hz the mids are ran in parallel off the rear rca and the amp ran @ 80hz through 3500 hz The subs have seperate channel running @ 90 hz and below in a 1 cube sealed boxes. I am adding polifill to them this weekend to see if I can inprove the lows, if not building a new enclosure for 1 12

Read what he typed again. He said 3 way active in the door, and 3" or 4' in the kick panel. I could fit the 8 in the door but nothing else. would a 4 in driver in the kick panel make that much midrange, I may be missing the point. I could put like 2 4" in kick panel and the 8 in the door. is that it or am I missing something.
