  1. Wait for ///M5 to pop his head in here. He's a big fat stinky SEAS whore.
  2. how about when are the fuses blowing? Like for example, do they blow as soon as you plug the amp in? Or after you send signal too it.
  3. wow, that car took the roll like a champ. the cabin is mishaped a bit, but overall.. wow.
  4. You could try to find an Eclipse CD8053 used on ebay. it has 8v pre's and a 3-way internal crossover, as well as numerous EQ's. Or I could put my brand new one up for sale with the Balanced Line Adapter and Commander :/
  5. Care to elaborate? I'm just curious what your thoughts and feelings are. Oh and I shall. I haven't built a box for it yet, we're going to start working on a ported one for the ICON shortly, so I'll throw it in there for some testing. Overall though, the thing is a monster (15"). It looks great and has a kind of ominous feel to it without any company branding on it. The motor just makes it look meaner. The spiders are pretty firm, but I'll be interested to see what this thing does after they've loosened up a bit over time.

at 12 volts.. it will put out rated power. Nothing more Nothing less.
  7. interesting..
  8. Why MTX? you say you've been doing a lot of reading.. but you still think you need to spend that much on a "custom box"? You probably should do a little more reading before you go to some local shop and they bend you over the counter with their pricing. If you're looking for a good base system. Look into Ascendant Audio or Mach5 for subs. For amps, there are a few Rf amps on sale in the shop currently.
  9. eww behringer. Everything else is "verryy Niiiiceee"
  10. holy grammatical... What ohm load are you running the 3000D's at? What car is it? How big is the alt?
  11. Go to a different shop. There's no law against making stickers..
  12. Kewl amp.. ew components lol
  13. got mine, its awesome.
  14. Which would in turn be a Negative.
  15. 4 alts? You're way under powered. even with what you have planned.
  16. Completely driver dependent on what "will go lower". Also box dependant.
  17. Isolators are nice in that you can run the system with the car off and drain the secondary battery but still be able to start the car with the underhood one. But if you're just looking to beef up the stock electrical you should consider upping the gauge of your main wire run and doing the Big 3 before buying the kinetik.
  18. Plenty.
  19. You're not allowed to say the E word in here. If you want SQ don't worry about xmax. Have you thought about an 8" sub? that might do a little better in such a small box.
  20. or you could give me $760 so I can lift it 3" We'll have a build day soon I'm sure, or even just to hang out and talk about stuff. I know I need box help and I need to weld a dual battery tray, Tom needs to put his car back together and tune, and Evan... well lets just say he needs serious help. Mark needs carpet/paint on his box and he needs to bypass his D3 so he can watch movies on the road. So we could have a very productive and busy meet.
  21. we can always have a fabbing meet. Do my battery tray and box.
  22. lol @ hyundai wearing mazda shoes. Funny that the lug pattern is the same.
  23. lol, have you even considered the ramifications of your 2500 watts? Like how your going to power the amp?
  24. Well on my ephatch.com forum someone said this.. and he knows his stuff Yellow-top for deep cycling and car-off use Red-top- for big instantaneous current and fast, turning over large high compression engines, etc. Don't like to be deep cycled. It's a toss-up for car audio, if you like to sit and jam with the car off then the answer is un-disputably the yellow-top. For daily use I recommend the red-top due to it's uber low internal resistance, HUGE peak current capacity, etc. so i was thinking the red top would do fine for what i need. hardly. While the red top is exactly as he put it, its not ment to have the strain of a stereo system on it constantly draining the current. A yellow top is. A yellow top also can provide perfectly good current to turn over a V8 (so it should be fine turning over your little K20A3). A better option, like I mentioned before is the Kinetik.
