HPF should be around 100hz (shallow slope 12dB), LPF off. Really all you can do on that amp.

More like a new alternator is needed. You can't solve a current draw problem on new wires and batteries alone.

Why not take it for $4100 and have him pay for your mechanic to go over it and give it a bill of health. IF the mechanic finds any problems, have the owner pay to fix those.

You'll want to actually get a Dual 1 ohm sub as your amplifier is only stable to 2 ohms. Wire it like this:

Wire it however you like... its the same output. Having two of them just makes it easier/cleaner to wire.

What kind of space do you have, and what type of box are you thinking of?

If you're burning your coils on the kickers up... that's more due to the fact that you're either clipping the amp, or have the gains set WAY to high. I'd get that all resolved before you think of putting new subs in. Because you'll only end up burning those up at some point too.

Around 1kW would be a safe amount to throw at each. How about a budget for your amp? I wouldn't pick either of those amps.
