  1. it looks a lot like a penis. yeah, it does. a penis that's shooting 230g .45 loads..hehe and can go 7-8 times without stopping. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  2. i have the commander style on my kimber (factory). are you using an extended beaver tail? if so, is it already notched for the commander hammer? if not, it will need to be. i seem to recall you saying something about installing a different beavertail. i'll see if i can't dig up a closeup, or i'll take one later. the only thing i want to add to teh kimber is an extended slide release, and maybe a bushing style compensator. either of you guys use one of those? my kimber is starting to rust, the bastage. from sitting. i've oiled her up pretty good, but me thinks kimber will be getting a letter. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee the beavertail has a groove cut in it, no idea if it's what you're talking about though. I had the crappy regular safety on it before but just had a bunch of work done to it. The guy did a pucking great job except for scratching the gun up a little when he put it in the vise (no big deal because i plan on polishing it to a mirror finish anyway). I had the beavertail installed, new extended safety (what you are thinking of is probably the extended slide release), had the whole thing tightened (very nice groups now for not having a nice barrel) had a full trigger job, brought the pull down to about 3.5lbs according to him, zero creep, also had the ejection port lowered flared and scalloped. I've heard the bushing style compensators are useless, they can't have a tolerance that's close enough to be effective. The guy that did my gun was shooting a .38 super with the works done to it including a compensator, and while he was awesome with the gun, it didn't jump at all. With mine it jumps a lot but it's also predictable and easy to come back down to target quickly. I am seriously debating a .38 super after talkin to him though. That's all he shoots now. I also must say, i have shot a lot, i consider myself to be above average with a pistol, and quite cocky when it comes to my abilities in general, but this is one guy i would never try to shoot against. He was shooting steel plates and just goofing off fired off 4-5 rounds scanning left to right, plates were farely large, about like a normal target would be, about 15yards out, but he fired quicker than i could have if i wasn't even aiming (honestly probably faster than my gun will even allow) hit every plate without hesitation. I plan on seeing a lot more of this guy and hope i can learn from him. yeah, that notch is what i'm talking about. you should be good to go with that commander style hammer. did you see that link above? i'm thinking i'm wanting that hammer, sear combo. http://www.midwayusa.com/eproductpage.exe/...&t=11082005 and that, lol. even if it is useless, it looks cool. mine will be getting an extended slide release though. while the thumb safety is just fine, teh slide stop is a bit of a reach. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  13. ohh, how i agree. started a new workout program and i'm sure as hell. though i think part of it has to do with a possible slipped disc in the neck. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  14. my dad just snagged a 99 cherokee with 125k on it for under 3500, in really good shape too. i like those. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  15. i like the movie... " that's my mammy over there, 'hi mammy', if i had a rock, i'd bust you in your head bitch"...(or however he said it) that just about made me cry. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  16. hey all. that can you hear me know car is the pimp!! maybe that's the route i should have taken with the hooptie. any big plans for the weekend? wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  17. i think i'm stealing andy's idea where he used a sonotube, passive radiator setup. i have a maw12 and a kicker kx400.1, will be using a tube.....now, i need the pr. other then the ones from boston and tc, anyone know where i can get a mach 5 one? lol. actually, looking for a budget one. maybe a mach5 cone/basket?(i know that's not the best way to do this, but it is a budget system in a budget car) thoughts? ideas? links? thanks ahead of time! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  18. i like this setup. different from all others, and should be easy enough to implement. an idea i might just steal, lol, for my hooptie build (though it'll be a mach5 12 and a kicker kx 400.1) i would take yoru original rack idea for the tube, make it beefier and permantly attach teh tube to it. it would be easier to make the rack/ tube combo removable and slick looking compared to jsut the tube, unless you could have some billet clamps turned out. this is a great install. kudo's for being different! and people thought sono tubes were just for output. lol... wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  19. mike, you are and will be, the measuring stick for all internet dealers as far as customer service goes. i think SS will always be around due to that. even with the markup, you are offering a quality product at a very reasonable price. and i know this, i'll always be a fan, of the product and the man behind it. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  20. lol, 'nuff said is just my "title", teh user name is mrray13. i'll get to a tape this weekend and give you some dimensions. this isn't a hard box, but not necessarly one that one would attempt on their first try, unless you are handy with the saw and tape. my icon is recieving a rated 1100wrms from a memphis mc1300 (the big belle), i typically listen to stuff from disturbed, slipknot, korn..but i'll also go old school motley crue, twisted sister, etc. i do listen to rap on occasion, but it's mostly rock. and i'm extremely pleased with the overall performance. my truck still lacks in the output side of things, but then again, i went from an 18" solox and 4kwrms to an 12 icon and 1100wrms. it's kinda a stacked deck, lol. the tuning freq is where you want the greatest reinforcement. the box will typically peak 7-11 cycles above tuning (alot of varibles figure into this) and roll off in either direction. you use a subsonic filter to limit damage to a sub below tuning as teh amp can tend to lose control of the sub and cause it to over reach it's limits. and don't sweat the questions, it's why we are here. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  21. oh, it's 55* here, with a projected high of 68* wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  22. Be better without the rear crap fill blah, blah, blah....u squeers...lol.. it's a cheap work hooptie, that came with factory cassette. it'll be jsut fine, a little thump in the trunck and some highs to go with it. jim, sorry to hear about your dogs. sometimes, with their dedication, it's harder to lose them then some human family members. and with that..it's time for the 3 S's....and work. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  23. both are extremely capable lsq drivers. i'd give the edge to the icon for power handling, though that's going to be enclosure dependant. overall sq would go to the rl-p , but it's geared more in that direction. the icon, IMO is about the most neutral sub as far as output/sq goes, thought eh rl-p is right there with it. the icon doesn't especially shine output wise sealed, i'd definitely give the edge to the rl-p on that point. sq is pretty close, but i think the rl-p is the better overall performer sealed. both are backed by extremely good people. customer service won't be an issue either way. overall, it's a coin flip. both subs prefer ported, both will work sealed, and both are backed by great people. teh rl-p is aluminum vs paper cone on the icon. and i can't see an idmax fitting under the rear seat of the silverado. but you can indeed port a single 12 icon or rl-p under there, lol.... Thanks for the input. I would like to go ported and I'm sure I can match the volume you stated you are using. Can you tell me the length of the 4" tube and the placement you used in the enclosure? oh yeah, i own both drivers (both 12's) and a 2004 silverado xcab. teh rl-p is currently retired (on of the first ones ever bought from mike) while the icon is currently residing in 2ft^3 @34hz (4" round port) under the back seat of said silverado. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee sub is downfired on driver's side, port is fired into pasanger side door. IIRC, the port is ~11", but i'll have to tapemeasure it to know for sure. i also built iluvJDM the exact same enclosure for his silverado/icon. i'll try to keep tabs on thios as i'm not online much (most i've been online in months, lol) but if needed, i'll provide dimensions to help out. if not me, holler at JDM.. wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  24. alrighty then... let me know if you don't find a 10 bro! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
  25. http://www.dragonflycycleconcepts.com/dragonfly.wmv that is pretty pimp!!! wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
