  1. i dont have much space behind the seat, so i figured a box with the right specs could maybe fit back there. any recommendations as to what would be best???? Yes my truck is single cab!! what other woofers would u recommend. Are you willing to cut into the bed to fit like 4 12"s or 4 15"s? lol
  2. New DD amps cut off at 15.4v. lol A real amp makes power down at 11v-12v. My van with stock alt charges up to 14.8v after driving a while. lol
  3. A lot of new cars go in between 12v-14v as they drive depending on load.
  4. Lots of things that need fixing/changing. But should be nice in the end.
  5. Personally, not at all. The AQ amps will do their rated power if not more. Plus, they have a clip indicator LED on the bass knob that tells you when your sending a clipped signal to the woofer. My friend has a DCON 12 hooked up to an audiopipe 1000w amp... there are a lot of audiopipe amps on ebay for really cheap... would one of those be a good choice or is the AQ amp better? AQ is better but I have an audiopipe AP 1500 and it does what I need it to. Yea i think i am stuck between the AP1500 and the AQ1200... but the AQ is about $100 more... is there any reason why I should get the AQ? The AQ looks better. More then that, the AQ willl do rated power if not more. The AP amps probably do not, if he had a true 1000w on the DCON it probably wouldn't last to long. Also, I can almost guarantee the AQ amps are much built better, and with AQ you get a warranty. Try to warranty an amp off EBAY.

  7. Oh ok, so you can fit a nice ported enclosure back there. Based on what you want out the system I do recommend you get the Aluminum coil option for the woofer, so it can hold a little more power. To be right on par with an Aluminum coil ICON $200 Audio Que 750w rms amp. Audio Que 750 For more power...... $250 Audio Que 1200w Amp Audio Que 1200D $400 Sundown SAX-1200w amp. Sudown Audio SAX-1200D All are very strong amps, each will hold a 1ohm load from the sub woofer. The extra from the Sundown will come from the customer service with Sundown is unbeatable, and it looks better. lol
  8. What do you drive? How much room do you have to spare for an enclosure? I think I know a good amp, but I will hold out until I get those answers.
  9. What is your budget? What is your goal for this system? What kind of box will the ICON be in? How much experience do you have with car audio?
  10. Man that's a whole lot of power for 4 8"s. Is your truck a single cab? What are your goals for this system? Why only 4 8"s?
  11. Your going to need to find someone who has strapped those particular amps before. With db Drive there is a switch that disables all but the input on the slave. On the Sundown, the RCA from the master plugs into the BR in. So nothing else gets signal.
  12. Or sub forward behind passenger, port up behind driver. Either will work well. I personally am a fan of sub up behind passenger, port up behind driver. Here is a video of such a box I built \/ \/ \/
  13. First real post in here in a while and it's a TOP^^
  14. Post achievement TOP! Woot
  15. What about 4 ICON 15"s? I think that would do VERY well.
  16. I am now over 4,033 posts!
  17. Deffiantly look into the VCM from XS Power first. I much prefer to be able to pick my voltage.
  18. Well, the "Guessing" my friend and I do sure has built some loud shit. Probably louder then you will ever build. And this math you talk about, was it thought up by the same person who came up with the "rule" you have to do 12-14^2 of port per cube?
  19. Edit: Fuck it, let Ram give the advice. Clearly he is superior even thought he hasn't been a part of anything truly loud.
  20. If the new Crescendo amps do rated power without getting dirty, and hold up strong to abuse. I'll buy them for myself.
  21. I helped a little, like ran one wire lol, with a friend of mines build, he got a 157 from the trunk.
  22. Is that ported? What does your front stage consist of?
