1985 El Camino SS-Fiberglass Box
That is just the bottom they will be trimmed down. We have access to some pretty mean air tools LOL. I never like the edges left over anyway and he cant decide which of the 3 angles we tested with to use. Makes a pretty big difference on how wide they will be. Thing is even if we made them that huge he can still drive comfortable and use the parking brake.

1985 El Camino SS-Fiberglass Box
He needs the grills though. The car owner is still in high school and after this year the car is being put up because he is going to college. He has 2 younger brothers and they throw things in the car, be it Rat Fink key chains too what have you. The grills look better in the car though the trim panel around the back is fuzzy dark black and the box itself is faced in black tweed. It looks better in person than the camera shows because the pictures are taken inside the garge. I wanted to do the trim in a gray tweed but he didnt want that. We were going to paint the box but he found out it has a good chance of getting scratched up so we tweeded it. That was a pain in THE arse because the way the bottom comes together. Only real weak part of the system is the head unit (power accoustic dvd/video screen) Next summer it will be either a pioneer or panasonic..maybe an alpine

better battery?
Why not get a larger Kinetik for under the hood ? I was told they not good bats for under-the-hood-. because of the heat... That would be incorrect. I've had an HC1800 under my hood for a few years now. hmm...i defitnely will look into it I have had my 1400 under the hood for almost 5 years. Kinetik also overs battery cases http://www.kinetikaudio.com/2009/product.asp?C=3&P=KMS-KASES

2 Batteries vs 1 with a Sundown 3000/100.4
2 2400's are more powerful as far as the smaller batteries I would think it would be close. I tend to lean on make as few connections as I need to, which is what is nice about the 3800

Stetsom Amps.
As far as I know they are hand built in Brazil and they don't get "designed" from someone elses menu. What a person likes or what not is up to them as depending on the amp some are better for burp contests while others are better for daily.

Finding an XS Power battery
you can find dekas locally just make sure they are the yellow agm type...last I knew they were under 200 locally as well.
-
Dump the Cap?
Dump the cap and get a good group 27 or 31 agm battery in back. Kinetik , deka odyssey are good brands to look into.

Which battery woud you pick?
A large load on a smaller battery is more of a stress on it than it is to its larger counterpart. For the short term you might not notice a difference but it will eventually show in a gradual loss of performance. A large load on a smaller battery is a deeper discharge than it is to the larger battery and the deeper the discharge the more wear is on the given cells. Where a given load might be 5% of the work the d3100 can do where the same load would be 12-13% on the smaller cell.....

12" Dcon Review
Oh we never took it as a world beater, I do think it does have some potential though to sound good. If tuned well it can maybe do well in SQ? I am not about burps or stuff even though I am spending time with a RFL and a geo metro LOL. Its fun but I wouldn't want that as my daily driver.

Batteries
"Hello, The battery will help your voltage draw but you can only use them in the rear cause there is no cranking amps in these battery. Billy Kenney Metra Electronics Metraonline.com" Battery in question of this email is the SK-BT60 using 2 of them 1 under the hood the other in back. I asked about the whole line after I got the email on the phone as well

Powermaster or Kinetik
Kinetiks can be blue or black. I think they stopped doing black cases a couple years ago though I am not sure. I would take kinetik people always talk about how great the xs is yet all the db draggers still use odyssey, stinger nsb and other enersys in street. Kinetik also did pretty well at all the spring breaks this past weekend....
-
Batteries
shurikens I was told by Metra that they would not start a car well and didn't recomend it to be used under the hood at all.

quality crossover
inexpensive analog X over would be the memphis 16-XO3

D3100 Questions
how moderate of temps are we talking about? 95 degrees outside, highoutput alt set to 14.9 volts with the battery in the engine compartment. Is that too hot?

Fusion speakers
Seen a full Fusion set up at a distributor show last spring. For $750 retail costs of the Fusion gear used it was pretty good. I have heard far worse that cost far more

-
Electrical Upgrade
should be able to get one for a lot less than that. Ebay has them delivered for about half that.
