  1. I work as an Industrial cleaner for a small local company , we do lots of things so i'm not going to explain what is ...and I am certified to do it all so... gets bills paid ...
  2. Its available here since the last european finals. vibe attended with an tunnel of bass (a tunnel with an shitload of woofers you can walk through) So I've heard of em ... made a boxcalulation for a guy I know hwo bought 2 15's but he hasnt finished the box yet , judging from the calculation I made ,an AA in the same range will perform better , I'll have a little wait and I will be able to hear/measure if BBpro and AJhorn were right .
  3. Don't make a stupid statement and I wouldn't. The comment wasn't about the driver but that you've heard them in a crap installation. Good installation wins over driver choice any day of the week. Hail to that !
  4. Hi from The Netherlands
  5. I've sat in a SQ comp car with an 12inch JL flat in each front door and dynaudio mids and highs in dash , to me thats still the best sounding system i've ever heared , so do it ,but try to put those amps elsewere , besides the weight ,powercables are going to be an issue
  6. congrats to Tommy .... and now I know I shouldnt be looking @ bladeice for weights . looking forward to the next game , hoping its got something to do with an 18 inch *** and getting one even before ***** ***** does edit : so that woofer and that person are not to be spoken of? thats kinda hard ! I've been looking forward to that woofer for quite some time now ! oh well ,It'll pop up some day.
  7. it would be best if both were the same
  8. in europe ,or at least the western part of it, we call LSQ """SQL""" so its not that strange and explains why you all are not familiar with it
  9. The great thing in our sound club is that everyone has a different dissipline he's good at , so far we've got a welder/benchworker/and all other steel stuff , two electricians , one that knows a lot about building boxes and setting up front stages(that would be me)a 2 body/polyester worker and someone that can repair HU's and amps ... furthermore in our club we al have an equal democatic vote in all decisions and all new members have to be voted in by 100% positive vote . we have a weekly gathering ,we rarely talk about audio much, thats stuff for the weekends . and we all pay a yearly fee to provide for 1 weekend meeting in august , stuff like a termlab , and minimum 2 BBQ's
  10. noone cares to comment on that crossfire sub ????? how is the AA design different ?
  11. you're not the onlyone who'd like to know ....
  12. tough to read , my thoughts are with you . wish you all strength love and good health , especially the little one !
  13. bump , I thought you guys would appriciate this , we had almost no cabin-gain to work with , if this were a normal car instead of a convertible we would have seen 6 to 8 db more on that score
  14. The BTL will keep up with the soloX ,it just makes up for the radiating area by moving up and down a little more ....
  15. I think he stated that he has the SPL option ..so no playing musig for him ....
  16. Welcome to SSA forums . first off , do you have a little more info on your install ? -what is your goal , are you burping or playing on music ? -what kind of car -what does your electical system consist of -what amp is it connected to -is it a D1 or D2 btl , what options did you get on it ? -how big is your box , and how much port area do you have -where did you place your sub , did you move it around in your trunk ? pics would help a great deal !
  17. We had blast today ..really a lot of fun this is not my car , this is of one of our team members ,just so you know . so its an 30 year old VW beetle with an complete custom build polyester body and soft leather top . install: 1x 15 inch mayhem D2 in a 4,75 cu. ft box , port 76 sq. inch tuned to 49 HZ 2 dragster daa2201 linked (which are really crap)I'll explain why later 3x 72Ah Varta , they were sitting @ 13.2 V fully charged.(wich should be 13.7) the dragsters should putt out 4400 Wrms a 2ohms @ 14.4 linked ,we only got to 3200W @ 13.2 V @2 ohms,we also tested a Celestra DA4K , that one put out 2000W @ 2 ohms @ 13.2V (rated a 3200W @1 ohm on 14.4 and 0,5 ohms stable) and a Celestra DA6K2 , this one put out 2800W @ 2 0hm @13.2 V (rated 5000W @ 14.4 V @ 1ohm and 0.5 ohms stable) , so the Celestra's did extremely well and I've got good hopes that when we can run it on 1 ohm it and new batteries are in the DA6K will come close to 6KW ! the old score stood on 141,5 , we tweeked the system today we got to 145,6 today , this seems like not a very high score , but its a soft leather top Cabrio ...that a LOT harder to go loud in ! this winter we will recone the Mayhem to D1 , we've got a few new ideas on the box too ,like a 10inch aeroport , upgrade it electrical with a few northstar NSB100 batteries and a different amp . anyways here's a little video of the final run
  18. look into the components from hybrid audio ...great stuff !!!
  19. I'd opt for a slotport that would stretch the entire or most of the width at the bottom of the box , and make it nice and big , as stated above keep the ratio 1:9 width / height. this wouldt probably result in less chuffing than 4 aeroports .
  20. will work fine on music but for burping only you'll probably will want to change the impedance on those coils . what kind of box do you have in mind ?
  21. I know it lookt really sweat to have a kerfed port like that and I know thumper does it like that , but I was wondering if noone has questionmarks on how much less structural strength a port like that will give ? at least put a 45 in place to protect it from inbox pressure
  22. thats SAD ! but funny
  23. I'd like to point out the fact that those RF amps put out more power on 2 ohms than on 1 ohm and those amps dont like to be strapped , they run hot quickly when you do . besides that its looking good !
  24. I tried googling Suki , all I got were pics my wife doesnt approve of ! maybe a link ? I drew something up that would work even better , going to have that made to spec by one of my friends and see how that works out
