  1. M5 does contribute but he isn't going to give the answer straight away he wants you to research first. Like someone said: "if you gave the man a fish he won't be hungry for 1 day, if you learn him how to fish he will never be hungry anymore" that's how M5 answers. I like some JBL components, and hertz has great components, no need for rears but you should buy a amp for the speakers.
  2. 110 kg's? THat's a really heavy and subwoofer...
  3. You probably have a cracked rib or atleast a few broosed ribs. Really you should go to the hospital or a doctor for check-ups, it's quite normal to almost feel no pain after you just crashed and about a few hours later everything will start to hurt.(i've been in a accident too)

What 4000+ w subs are you guys using? EDIT: You wouldn't have heared clipping, believe me. You won't hear clipping till it's too late.
  5. Setting it at 26 hz is always better then 0... So it would protect a little better, but still you should set it correctly.
  6. Then put the subsonic filter a 26 instead of 28....
  7. There are a lot of things that have changed so it's not a fair comparison.
  8. Well, i really hope you don't toast anything, and that is most probably bound to happen. Good luck
  9. You do know in some circumstances off axis isn't the best choice. (depends on the driver, and the kind of sound the listener wants to have.)
  10. Hearing a 20% difference in power is quite hard to do. Really, find a amp that has build in VU-meters.(and where you can see the wattage offcourse because not all have that.) (Maybe it's possible to do when you have 1 amp and don't need to change amps, so there is almost no time between comparisons, i'll test tomorrow and come back with results )
  11. It's because the drivers are all in a different position and have a different distance to where it should meet. And cancellation can occur or other acoustical problems. Atleast that's what i think i don't know that much about time alligment. (So please correct me, if i'm wrong)
  12. I hope this isn't you're first system, because if it is i wouldn't start out with that amount of power and 'expensive' gear. It's like driving a ferrari after you just have got you're driving license...
  13. Do you actually think 4 10's will fit properly in the VW passat?
  14. this was very informative and funny
  15. When they were blowing on it? Biology 101 We inhale Oxygen and Exhale Carbon Dioxide. You're joking right? If they blow from that kind of distance it will get more oxygen then Carbon dioxide. Nobody was smart enough to pop the hood and disconnect power wires? and then put water on it?
  16. Any video's of that XMX 6.5? (sorry for the offtopic )
  17. Don't the nightshades like smaller boxes more?
  18. You don't want stereo sound ? Does the subwoofer has dual voicecoils or not? I would buy a plate amp, so you can connect it to the subwoofer, and leave both speakers on the L&R channels.
  19. I know but the RE MT is the only woofer i have ever heared that it can blow whilst being underpowered. You missed my point I'm sorry, could you tell me you're point then?(do you mean all subwoofers can be blown by underpowering? ) (sorry for jacking this thread.. )
  20. I know but the RE MT is the only woofer i have ever heared that it can blow whilst being underpowered.
  21. Some person said that I could Fry the coil overs or something like that if you run an amp smaller than the recommended subwoofer power. The only subwoofer that could be smoked whilst underpowering was a series of RE MT, the spiders were too hard and if you had a X amount of power to it, it didn't moved enough to cool itself and burned the coils.
  22. Maaan I got all excited thinking the N1's were officially up on the site... I didn't even notice how it didn't include 18's on the BtL main page. Now I'm even more interested. Any chance the N1 twelves will have over 90 dB sensitivity? Hard to do with mass limitations I know, and mostly irrelevant towards most applications, but I'm just curious as heck. You do know sensitivity is irrelevant for subwoofer applications? Because it's measured a 1khz...
  23. Remember that in a car you will never have that kind of respone, because of the car acoustics. Sometimes you don't want a 'flat' frequency response.
  24. Nice. I have a tip like you had for gleuning pieces together. Use a lot of glue, but before you glue sand the pieces a little bit.(with grit 80-120) Just so the glue soaks in the wood.
  25. You are right, it is wrong. Check other websites it does 3000 at 2 ohm. The ap 3000 is 2 1500's linked together in 1 case, like the other guy said. The Sundown 2500 would be a great choice, if u want to upgrade later you already have 2500w. And it should do more then 1200w at 2 ohms.(atleast in perfect conditions) And it has a subsonic filter and is quite efficient, so not a lot of strain on the electrical.
