  1. Nothing really, as you can tell the subs dont come with a standard gasket so im sure thats the reasoning for them.
  2. Not neccessarily true, there is a good amount of people who run more than 3k and dont replace an alt every 6 months. But a good battery bank is usually what they have to overcome that, buying a charger and charging your batteries often will help as well. True...... but he doesnt have that. No way you just add a single group 31 and think you can run two 2k watt amps strapped at 1 or even 2 ohms, and another 1k watt class A amp and think it will be fine. That mofo will draw like crazy unless he is gonna run the amps strapped at 4 ohms. But whats the point in that. When demoing you need a good alt, comps isnt that big of a deal because you can burp or handle 30 seconds without much issue if you have a big enough battery bank. I just know from what I have seen, you either need a overly large battery bank / stock alt or a mixture of battery and good HO alt. I just didnt see the point in advising him to add a second 100lb battery to the truck just to avoid a new alt, why have $1k worth of subs, $1200 worth of amps and not make sure electrical is up to par. My last bit of input on his setup is this. If it was mine I would A...... Run a group 34 under hood (agm) and 2 group 31's in the trunk and also a Charger to maintain them. or B.......Run the 34 under hood, one group 31 in the rear and a good Mechman HO alt. Then he can demo with more confidence, not worry about the stock one going out and when he is ready to add power, just add more batteries. Either way. OP you have a great build going on, good equipment and Rick and Alton will take care of you. I will be watching this build, the Zcons just get loud as piss and sound great. Good luck with the build!! So you say I shouldnt advise him to add a second 100lb. battery in the trunk but thats what you did in option A. Or maybe you didnt understand when I said add a couple of batteries, I was talking about the group 31s for the rear. Its not telling him to avoid getting an alt, its helping him to understand that he needs a good battery bank to run that much power since he doesnt want to or plan on getting an H/O alt at the moment.
  3. Finally we heard the third side of the story, makes sense now instead of going of 1.5 sides of a story.
  4. If your trying to avoid getting an alt then a couple batteries should suffice, use a volt meter and keep an eye on your voltage. I doubt you wil be able to set it to 3200 watts or whatever, battery reserve is nice unless you wanna damage equipment or become stalled on the side of the road. 5. Same here, I'm surprised they haven't dropped in. Same here, I'm surprised they haven't dropped in. Cause they barely come on the forum and right now they are at CES or leaving. Im sure the dealers side of the story would be more entertaining as he is the middle man and seems to have more pull when it comes to their products than SSA does.
  6. Maybe you should take the bassheads over seas since they seem to have an easier job installing 100lbs. into a 6lb. bag
  7. Tuned in
  8. At this rate you minus well extend that to 2014
  9. do the big 3, install your batteries you have sitting around first and then install alternator. Once you do all that and its stil not loud enough then add another sub and amplifier.
  10. Don't really care for the look of it but it should be a beast.
  11. Better off how? Both amps put out power that will make your sub produce bass. Either amp will do the job and the power difference won't be heard. Just pick which ever amp you can afford, simple as that.
  12. More than likely from an economical standpoint, a lot of people can't justify paying $500 or better for an amp. By having a cheaper model you can access that demand as well.
  13. Are you looking for a pair of pods already made or just need some help starting your own pods? What is stopping the components from fitting in stock locations?
  14. Agreed. I would look at the SSA ICON. I wouldn't put an Icon in this category, maybe power handling wise but that's it. Why not? If you have to ask then you shouldnt be telling people what subs to choose in a vs thread, do some research. I didnt tell him to use a Icon. I wanted to know why you dont approve of it? I know you didnt and im speaking in general. Look at the subs and review them and you should see. I didnt say I didnt approve of it just wouldnt put it in a category with a W7 or AA Havoc.
  15. Cheaper is not always better, but to each its own. Your right but in this situation, both are very high quality amps. You can't go wrong with either. I wouldnt say Crescendo is high quality but a nice built amp that does what its supposed to do, yes.

  19. Flip a coin if price is not an issue. You won't hear a difference between either one, just pick an amp.
  20. Haha at the responses, why stoop to the OP's level. Hella of a thread, me likes it
  21. When the pre-sale is announced then he will give an ETA like usual
  22. Because there is no release date yet, read a few post above when he answered the question for you earlier in the thread. "Release date is pending...."
  23. Sounds like your friend/dealer is sketchy.
