  1. He doenst know, the only way to tell is go out and measure the space you have for an enclosure minus room for amps and batteries. More than likely you may have to fire these subs forward, do you have or will you have the budget to do some massive electrical upgrades to keep up with the power you will be putting in this car to push these BTL's. The real question is what is your budget for subs, amps and electrical upgrades?
  2. No you dont have to use the bass knob, did you check all your settings on h/u and amp? What does your electrical consist off? Did you check all your connections?
  3. wire each sub like this:
  4. I like the pods, all these fiberglassed pods I have been seeing lately are giving me an itch to do mine.
  5. The Wardens are doing some damage .
  6. Not a problem.
  7. Yeah you got it, here's a picture for you:
  8. Go to the bottom of this topic and read the last post and pm him, he will set you up with everything you need to know: Where's a dealer to get products?! - SSA Car Audio Forum - Page 3
  9. Yeah get the Dual 1 ohm but with that size box you could get away with Dual 2 ohm and wire it at 1 ohms and be careful with the gains and volume knob. Usually a smaller box allows for a little more power, but you dont have to just throwing that out there.
  10. Ok makes sense now, thanks for that bit of info.
  11. Yeah fixed, thanks for pointing that one out.
  12. No, nothing sound wise what so ever just wanted to give you a couple of options instead of just one and let you pick for yourself. Just make sure you get the voice coil configuration I mentioned with the amp you purchase since it varies per amp (whats in the parenthesis after the amps in previous post). Good luck with purchase and install, dont forget to show us pictures.
  13. Ok thank! Do you know of any good places to get a box for that chaos 12, and is that hifonics a good amp for it? Im honestly not a fan of Hifonics Amps but some use them with no problems and enjoy them, I would go for an Audioque AQ1200D for that subwoofer (D1 - Dual 1 ohm for a 2 ohm final load) :Audioque: Amps: AQ1200D For about $30 more you can get a Sundown SAZ-1000D for that subwoofer (D2 - Dual 2 ohm for a 1 ohm final load). The options are open for an amp, its up to your budget for one.
  14. After I just installed some new speaker wire in the car I was thinking of speaker wire for subwoofers and the size being used nowadays such as 8 gauge. If Im correct voice coils dont like heat or too much heat, thicker wire passes more current which brings on heat. So would it benefit you to go bigger on speaker wire for your subwoofer and if not what should be the biggest and safest size to use?
  15. aww man you had me excited for a minute, but working on the car FTW!
  16. I would vote for 2-10" Arsenals or 1-12" Chaos, you may have to add a secondary battery if you install this setup but maybe not (if so it will require a small battery at the most).
  17. More information would help, such as what your electrical consist of now? I would at least invest in a volt meter and do the Big 3 Wiring so you can monitor your voltage after installing setup to see if you have voltage drops. If you have voltage drops then you will need a secondary battery but if not then you will be ok, but we cant tell you if you will need additional electrical upgrades until you install it. Any sub put in its recommended enclosure will get loud and hit pretty hard (not a good way to describe how you want your system to sound since hitting hard varies by the user). The real question is what is your budget for subs, then we can help you choose what is right for your application.
  18. Glad you got a good piece of equipment, cant wait for the build log with pictures.
  19. ? calls? from the saints and vikes game pass interference, complete catch and the 1st down spot all completely jacked in one possession in overtime Agreed, the pass interference for sure! Stop talking about it. Just bad memories pass interference was a bad call but still all the turnovers lost them the game, cant argue the turnovers x2, that is what made them go into overtime in the first place. If they would of eliminated those turnovers then the Vikings would of won the game within the 4 quarters because their performance showed it.
  20. Yeah I just purchased some KnuKonceptz Karma SS 10 gauge wire (9ft.) for my subwoofer after installing this wire since I liked it so much.
  21. I definitely didnt get any pictures since it was dark when I did the install, just got done doing it about 20 minutes ago. The only light I had was a flashlight but it was easy, the jacket even went through the door grommet with ease and no problems what so ever. Sorry for not installing earlier to give you guys some pictures, I actually though about that during the install (I was like no pictures to show but I will still tell).
  22. KnuKonceptz Karma SS 16 gauge wire (60ft.) came today and installed one run of it for my front doors, very easy to work with and love the outer jacket that is wrapped around the positive and negative wires. This will keep the wire from damaging (getting pinched, squished, etc.) and it looks better also.
  23. What is your budget, if your looking for a budget amp then I would try the Audioque AQ2200D: http://www.audioque.com/aq/?page_id=28
  24. That is what im going with after talking to ///M5 on my listening taste and preferences, that setup would fits my goals well.
  25. Yup! PPI and Orion before ADST and Directed. Hi-Fonics and Crunch before Maxxsonics. Phoenix Gold before Rodin and AAMP. Soundstream before Epislon Electronics and Rockford Fosgate Punch and HD series. All old school amps I run Sundown now because I wanted to try something other than mainstream and glad that I did! x2, wanted to venture away from mainstream and was looking at getting an Audioque AQ2200D then seen the Sundown on Presale for a few dollars more and jumped on the Sundown SAZ-2000D and then got a Sundown SAX-125.2, havent turned back yet. I also wanted to get one of the newer lines of Zed Audio Amps but they werent out yet with a sketchy time of release when I needed an amp but still will get some in the future. For my car it will be Zed or Sundown Audio for amps and KnuKonceptz for my wiring and rca needs (I found a good company and gonna stick with them), the only bias I have for equipment is what will be ran in my car.
