I would get the kicker but it has a set sub sonic filter which would only allow you to build certain ported boxes tuned in a small frequency range instead of your preferences.

I have heard where the ho alternator could be a problem but I would suggest you check your amp and headunits grounds (they me be bad).

If that is a prefab box then I wouldnt even buy any new subs right now, I would spend my money on just getting a better enclosure made for your current subs.

Do you guys think this procedure can be done in Auto shops? How complicated is this procedure? I mean, I would love to try it, but I dont have any experience at all with this. In the worse case, I would prefer an auto shop to do it, but if its going to cost a lot forget it lol Yes they can do this in local shops but would probably cost you an arm and a leg. It can be simple to do if you are hands on and can pick up things quickly. All you are doing is adding three wires to your electrical system but if you dont feel comfortable doing it then yeah I would let a shop do it.

You either need two amps that do 1000 watts at 1 ohm each or one amp that does 2000 watts at 2 ohms.

I wouldnt buy that amp, why pay good money for subs and go the cheap route on an amp for them?

no that is the resistance ohm load, what did you purchase 2 FI BL 18"s D1 or D2 ohms? You got the D2 ohms right?
