  1. the 30 watts rating is about like the sundown 1500d rating from what ive read. Ill link to a couple of reviews for ya so you can see what i mean. also diy crossovers arent really that bad, ive learned alot building mine, i had no idea what i was doing to begin with , and im actually starting mine over tonight, but I would gladly help you on your way. I think your in the same position I was a few weeks ago, thats why I've been so willing to help, because lets be honest nobody likes being a noob here is the link to the AVR-130 Review, The 146 is slightly better and has a few nicer features, its also more widely availible http://www.audioholics.com/reviews/receive.../avr-130-review the main reason that review gave the 130 a bad review is the lack of a visual interface, a problem which the 146 fixed. http://reviews.cnet.com/av-receivers/harma...7-30632952.html
  2. I dont see where the links i posted wouldnt work for what hes wanting, since hes wanting to do a cheap 5.1, those come highly recommended. If your not going to add a sub down the road you could also look into building this http://www.partsexpress.com/projectshowcase/noah8/index.html
  3. Four of these would be sweet in any setup! Which amp ? You should know what amp you shipped it
  4. Man id love to be able to sit in a skybox and watch a game.... next time you should invite me
  5. For a good 5.1 reciever i read up and i have always had a soft spot in my heart for Harmon Kardon/ JBL i picked up my avr 146 for 230 bucks off pricegrabber BNIB and it is beautiful mine came from total electronics. Super fast shipping. http://electronics.pricegrabber.com/home-a.../search=AVR-146
  6. Im currently building this, a nice little setup I did a ton of research looking for the best design for my needs. http://home.hawaii.rr.com/sanaka/AudioDIY/DHT/DHT.html This here would fit your budget to http://www.partsexpress.com/projectshowcase/sc51/index.cfm

Thanks SSA for doing such a cool giveaway I cant wait to play with this bad boy Pics now, Installed friday maybe. I must say this basket finish is BEAUTIFUL and the texture actually photographs pretty well
  14. i dont think your gonna be able to fix that. And its rather expensive to get it fixed, probably not worth it for a 50 dollar motor
  15. You can only strap amps that are the same model also the 100.4 isnt strappable, I dont know of a single 4 channel amp that is strappable But you can use 2 SAE 1000d's strapped to your sub and then the 100.4 for your Mids/Highs
  16. This is why you dont use Gorilla Glue for a recone, your probably gonna have to re-recone it after a while
  17. Wow that is a big power jump If your batt was floating higher dont you think you couldve got more power out of the amps tho?
  18. Has it been done? Yes Is it covered under warrenty? No Will it work if you have adequate electrical? Should
  19. any dustcap that is similar size will work, dd, re, fi, si, SSA, to name a few you could try gluing the spider back as it sits, the surround may have it centered enough for it not to rub.

to shim the gap get some Manilla folders and cut them to fit inside the vc former use as many of those as u can while still being able to put the vc in and out like that also playing below tuning causes unloading. Thats probably why it did that.
