  1. Each time I see it on the recent topics part I hope to see some pics of the work, or the end result, but NOTHING yet !!!!!!!!! WTF ? :) Is that what you call EXTREME TEASING ???!!!!
  2. There are dozens of amps around ! 2 channels amp can be really cheap on the ssa store, at powermax electronics, or on ebay. Try one if you're on a tight budget. But you should get a 4 ohm sub to run your amp at 4 ohms like others have said. Btw : why such a small sub ? Can't you try a 10" ?
  3. That is a Fi Q ? Looks huge, for a 10" ! They have always been like that ? with the big bottom ? Damn...!!! Btw : How can they lost a sub from USA to Canada ? Maybe someone has a 12 sub setup for free in his car !!!
  4. Ok I got it ! But what is the rule ? I can use less port area, but how much less ? And How to choose from 1 port, 2 ports,...? Maybe someone can post a link where I can find all the info I need. Thanks Adrian
  5. I have read a lot on the subject, but I can't get a final answer. Like a lot of people in my country (we have small cars), I have limited space in my trunk, but still want to use a ported box. I've read that round ports can make me save space. But I don't understand how. The same rules should apply : 12-16 sq inch of port area per ch ft. What can I expect for a 3.5 cu ft box ? I would like to make a smaller box so that my amps can breathe Thanks
  6. Seems like a good choice ! You can find cheaper (and still "good") amplifiers like Audiopipe for example. The Sundown sae 1200 d is a monster : I think it can give you the 1500 watts you want ! Not expensive for an amp like that ! I don't know nothing about the options, but you need D2 to reach a 1 ohm load on the amp. Think twice about the size of the sub : a 12" is not bad, and need a smaller box : so you can put the sub in the optimal box easier. But, if you have the room you can have a huge 18" !!! Good luck
  7. a 130 amp alt ? I think you can use a 1500 watts amplifier easily, without a second battery. Just do the big 3 ! The BTL is a monster, is it what you need ? I don't know. With 1500 watts it should be loud enough. You will give him more power later if you need it. Don't go cheap on the box with these kind of beasts !!! The Sundown Z15v2 is another monster. (that I would like to try one day)
  8. In France you can have what you want, everywhere except on the windshield : nothing is allowed. But you'd better roll down the windows when you pass by the cops if it's too dark. They don't like tint, they want to see you, even if it's not illegal! I have 10% on the sides and on the back, so I roll down when needed and I turn down the stereo when I see the cops !!! I don't want any problem !
  9. We love both subs in both boxes !!! The first box was the 3.5 ft3 one : it was impressive in his very small car (2 doors Renault Clio) on 1200 watts rms with stock electrical. I use this box in my car now with a 1500 watts amp : the car is bigger so there is less feeling of pressure in it. But it's loud AND accurate!!! The second box is bigger, with flared port : you can see it in my avatar. Both boxes are in my Gallery here. Take a look ! My friend is a box builder for a local shop. But we ordered these box designs from JBL Camry (Fisher Customs). My friend was very very happy : he learned how to make flared ports! First try, first success !!! He uses 2 sundown saz 1000 strapped on his xcon, and it is sooooo loud now !!! I can't say that this box sound better than this one : both are well built to specs, with the right port size, 45's everywhere,... I listened to both but with something different each time : different amps, different electrical systems(big 3 done for him, big 2 for me), different cars,... Now, my buddy wants a second Xcon and bought my saz 1000. He wants to run each xcon with 2 saz 1000 strapped at 2 ohms in a big box. I'm waiting for dimensions to ask JBL Camry for a box design. He will soon order a new xcon and a new saz 1000. Don't worry so much : throw it in your box and you'll see !!! Good luck !
  10. You don't need to run your saz 3500 at 0.5 ohm to have enough power ! Get 2 D1 subs to reach a final load of 1 ohm for the amplifier. It will be safer !!! 3500/2=1750 : it's exactly what the Xcon is rated for. Don't need to give them more. Good luck on your build ! Great choice of equipments !!!
  11. seems really loud ! I like the picture showing the 2 subs in the box, from the middle of the back windshield.
  12. I hope to read some reviews soon ! I knew they were from Brasil, but that's all. Never read anything about them. Good move SSA !!! Glad to see some mids & highs on the shop !
  13. must be your good friend ! cool
  14. NICE ! I'd love to have a box that big in my car ! But I need my backseats sometimes !!
  15. Am I the only one ? I can't see the pics on my computer !
  16. Can you tell us how you like the xcon after using type X ? Oh, only one Xcon ... don't know if it will be fair to compare one Xcon with 2 type X ?
  17. My xcon 15 is in a 3.5 cu ft (net) box tuned to 32 Hz : and I love it ! amp Sundown saz 1500 One of my friend has his in a 3.7 cu ft box tuned to 32 Hz, amp (2 saz 1000 strapped) : it's wonderful, in his small car !
  18. I feel the same with them !! (look at my sig, if you can) But I hope I am not wrong!!!!!!!!!! There are dozens of brands in the market, so, why just these 2 ? Maybe because of the ssa shop?
  19. OMG ! May I ask you if the car is still alive ?!!!
  20. OMG ! Tell me you will make it look nicer later ! But it must slam real hard !
  21. If you could see our roads !!!
  22. WTF ? Do you think you can't get loud with BL's or BTL's ?
  23. What kind of car do you have? Why don't you work on the springs? You can look for a good 10" sub with that amp.
  24. There must be 2 wires that we can't see : one for the + and one for the -. Nice enclosure. Seems big and heavy ! How do you like the sound ? Have you tested it yet ?
  25. a BTL in your HT ? Damn... You must work for Fi !!! What kind of amp do yo have to push this sub ? Sorry OP !
