  1. Use the DVD one. 2 or 4 volts ? It's not important. The only change should be in gain settings on your amplifiers.
  2. My box builder puts wood glue mixed with wood dust in the inner part of the kerf. No problem so far, without any nice 45 like you added !
  3. You could also run an 18" Xcon. But 2 Icons will be nice on that amplifier. You'll love them. Put them both on the same side. It doesn't matter if they're touching each other.
  4. It's not the best way to do it but it works. I have the stock battery under the hood and a Kinetic 1200 in the back, with no problem. I will change the under hood batt soon because I have it for 4 years, it may be tired ! I need to check both batts.
  5. Great build ! I love it ! But I thought you wrote that your batts were still good. You changed them ?
  6. Talk to RAM Designs. He's a member here.
  7. Keep your L7's, but build a good ported box for them. They like room, so don't build it too small. Tune it to 32-35 Hz. You'll upgrade your amp later. You will find a lot of amps that can fityour needs, when you're ready : used or new.
  8. Get a better amp if you have money to spend ! but the one you have should do the job. Maybe you expect too much from your subs ? Your box seems to be within manufacturer specs. Save some more money, and upgrade your subs to Xcons, or Z (to keep it Sundown if you want).
  9. Thanks for all that info, guys ! That's exactly what I was looking for !
  10. Xcons, Zcons, BTL, ... all are good choices. Sundown Z too. But I don't know enough about the Nightshades. Talk to Bassahaulic !!!
  11. Someone told me here, to put my SSF aound 25 Hz when I was using a big (3ft3) sealed box for my 15" Xcon on 1500 watts.
  12. Ziebart ? It's a name I saw on some glass on cars, when I was young !!!! But I don't know for their tint ! For my own car, I don't want anything above 15%. 20 is still light. But I live in a sunny island in the Caribbeans. I don't know if you have so much sun ;-) where you live. And my car is never parked in a garage, but under the sun all day long. So the tint gets lighter faster. I need to re do it on my car after 4 years. It's still good, but not enough !
  13. Maybe you expect too much out of a single sealed 12" ? Some ideas ; Try a ported box. Use aeroports too save space if the trunk is small. Change box position : fire the sub through the rear. more power work on the electrical part of your install to feed the amplifier (!) Good luck, and tell us what you did.
  14. 35 % ? You will not like it. It's really not dark enough. I would put 35 % on my mother's car to protect her, because she hates dark tinted cars but needs tint (as her Dr said). With an audio system you may need at least 20 %, and no titanium tint : after 2 or 3 years in the sun it becomes a lot less dark when the "titanium effect" goes away.
  15. Tweeters look nice ! I like what you did to install them! You got serious skills. I'm surprised to see the tweets firing through the windshield, not on axis ( to your ears). But if it sounds good like that, it sounds good !!!!!!!!!!!!
  16. Looks professionnal ! Nice site.
  17. OP, one thing I can tell you : those guys know their sh** ! No joke business ! It's hard to beleive some memberS, HERE, told you 18's were bad !!! Maybe you did not have enough room for what you wanted ! If you want more bass & low notes, run more subs or larger ones (in the appropriate enclosure), tune around 30 Hz,... Good luck !
  18. How can you find so much great subs for cheap ?!! Lucky man ! Great price for this 10". Good luck with sale.
  19. I'm surprised to see people recommanding Pyle, Audiopipe, Eminence,etc... to anyone looking for loud speakers. The choice is so limited ? Personnally, I hate how those sound, but I've never heared any "pro audio" speakers sounding good in a car. A friend of mine received some 8 or 10" Sundown neopro, and he seems to like them a lot, but I did not listen to them yet. What are the good options in the market actually ? I'm not looking for cheap, but for good & loud sound. Any good JBL mids these days ?
  20. You got a nice design for free, OP. I hope you will be able to calculate those 5/8, 1/8 right. And then you will convert in cm. If you're willing to pay for a design for the next box (!), try RAM Designs, he is a member here, and can easily work in metric system. I'm French and I use only metric dimensions too. He has a web site : ram-designs.com or something like that. Try to google it. Good luck with your build from Romania !
  21. Hope you're going well, Shawn. I need to send you an e mail about the 2 BLs I should receive in Martinique. (been 2 months since payment)
  22. In the last years I've received several subs from the USA (Fi, SSA, Sundown) with absolutely no problem. They were all packed like that except the SA 15. My subs travel to Paris (France) and the go back to the Caribbeans (Martinique) with UPS. With Fedex they go through Memphis, Porto Rico before MArtinique. Big trips so ! And no package were damaged. Even the BTLs and the Xcons were in good conditions. The shipper must have done something wrong with your box. Bad luck bro ! But I can tell that that kind of packaging is good enough for those subs.
  23. Upgrade if you find interesting features on the new one, but don't do it only for higher voltage pre-outs. You should not notice anythng, if your amps are not garbage !!!
