  1. Hey, nice ! How do you like it ?
  2. Take your time to read the manual. A cheaper Pioneer h u will have quite the same menu, with less options. Get used to this one. It's not that hard to control ! How did you set the little "knoob" on the outer case of the h u , before installing it ?
  3. Now, take your time, as Tyrefryr wrote. Double check, double check ! Ask questions, one new topic per question. It will be easier for people to answer back. It's the hard part : you have the subs looking at you and no sound ! Don't worry, you'll find a good deal on an amp. The biggest part is to have the right box for your car and your subs. Be careful!! Read the more you can here. Good luck
  4. Nice build. Serious work. Did not understand how many saz 2500 you will use : 2. 3 or 4 ? Your PSI subs are strong enough for so much power ? Did not know that. But you're coming from Nightshades 18" !!!
  5. I don't know why, but I can't see any pictures you've posted !
  6. Don't listen to this guy. The hifonics puts out that 2kw at 1 ohm, same as the audioque. You need a amp that delivers 1500w at 2 ohms. The kicker is a great amp except for the subsonic. The audiopipe 3000 is too much you'll smoke the subs. Actually the Audiopipe 3k is rated at 2k at 2 ohms which would be fine because he has 2 d2 subs that are rated at 1000w a piece. @ OP: If your looking to spend 550$, the Saz-2500d is on pre-order pricing for 525$ in the SSA store. Better than paying 550$ for only 1500w. It does 1200w at 2 ohms so you may not have to worry about electrical upgrades beyond the big 3. By getting either the ap 3k or the saz-2500 you have the option of going to 1 ohm down the road if you want to upgrade subs. Just a thought. The 12" L7 is rated at 750 rms a piece ! The Sundown amp is a very good one, for future upgrades... at $550 it's agreat deal. at 2 ohms, it will provide enough power, you won't feel any difference from 1200 watts to 1500 watts. But the 1500 Kicker is good too for your actual need. Another choice is a Stetsom 2k6 or something (the 2 ohms model): take a look at the ssa store. They have it. cheaper you can also buy a Clarion amp : one that gives you 1500 at 2 ohms.
  7. Get the 1500 Kicker amp! and an adjustable subsonic filter.
  8. Budget system ? Not really ! It's a good system, with a very good deal on subs !!! If you can find a cheaper amp, maybe you can upgrade your front speakers : you'll need something good to "keep up" with the bass ! The Kicker is fine ! Get an adjustable ssf with it, I think it's cheap. Or build a low tune ported box (a few Hertz above the tuning of your box), but you may not like to loose some output. I don't know ! for the speakers !!!!!!!!!
  9. The one BTL would be cheaper than the 2 BL's. But cone area is different !!! I'd get a new btl n2. But it's me ! good luck ! Try the second batt, must not be a bad thing.
  10. Why do you want to tune so low ? You will loose output. Are you sure you want that ? 32Hz should be good : enough low end and enough output.
  11. You should run ONE Kicker 1500 on these subs. The Kicker 750.1 will be able to play at 4 ohms only on one D2 sub. These amps are not 1 ohm stable. don't try to run 2 of them on your subs. Do you have a fantastic deal on Kicker amps ? What is your budget for the amp ? Maybe you can find something as good and cheaper. I think these amps don't have adjustable SubSonic Filters. it's not a good point if you want to run a ported enclosure. Take a look at the Sundown amps, for example, or Stetsom too, on the ssa store, here. and yes, M5 is very knowledgeable about caraudio !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Dual 2 ? You're good to go !!! you will be able to wire them so you have a final load of 2 ohm for the amp. If the amp is rated for 1500 at 2 ohms:fing34: Be careful of the woofers you're buying !!! If you can easily reach your alternator under the hood, the big 3 will be EASY. You just need 0 ga wire and ring connectors. I can' t reach mine, so it's not finished yet, but I don't have any electrical problem with my 1500 w amp at 1 ohm. There are a few topics about the big 3, look around. :
  13. I don't know how to be sure about the Kicker, but you can run them on a 1500 watts amp. you have a powerful car, the alt must not be too weak. Do the big 3 in 0 gauge wire and you'll be fine. Maybe you'll get an extra battery later. I use my 1500 w amp and a 300 watts one for my speakers in my car without any HO alt or extra batt, with NO Problem !!! Be careful of the VC config on the subs . If they're D4, don't buy the 1500 watts Kicker amp, it can't play at 1 ohm. Good luck
  14. I can't understand why you want to use little Clarion amps on your sub. Get a cheap Audiopipe or Powerbass or...you need power for your 21" !!!
  15. You don't need no HO alt for this car to run an amp for an Xcon !!! Those cars always sounds good. I don't know why, but the bass can sound so good in them. Those are strong cars. Looks nicer on 18" rims! Good choice of equipments.
  16. Why do you want a very low end amp on such a good sub ?!! Get a better one, used maybe. Do your woman a favor! Audiopipe is very cheap, Kenwood and (some) Clarion too. Good luck !
  17. Sincères condoléances. (Don't know how to say it in English). Be strong. I know it's hard.
  18. 1 xcon would be cheaper than 2 Icons, and I can tell you the Xcon plays very well on 1000 watts. I did it! You can upgrade your amp lately. But the Hifonics you want is enough ( 1700 at 1 ohm ?). You're on the right track ! (Except for the HF amps !!!) Good luck.
  19. The phone splitter works fine for hooking up 2 amps, but you have 3 amps ! I don't know! Run 2 subs per amp, but be careful when matching the gain.
  20. I'm not an expert, at all, but I noticed a better voltage when I upgraded the wire from batt to ground. when I added a bigger wire to ground the engine block, my voltage did not went up, but I had less voltage drops. I still need to add a wire for alt to batt (+). This one was very helpful for a friend of mine : he runs +4000 rms on a 120 amp alt (stock was 60) with no voltage drops when driving (stays at 14.4 - 14.6 v !!!). At iddle it can go down to 12.something at full tilt for a few moments. Good luck !
  21. :fing34::fing34::dancing::dancing:
  22. I had better results in my car (hatch style) with sub up (2 x 4" aeros)ports to the side rather than sub up (slot) port up. On the same amp an saz 1500 D.
  23. less weight, more performance....got to think about them subs seriously ! A15" would be nice in my car!!!!!!!!
