I think it's a lower grade set of Focal. I believe Crutchfield is carrying these, so Best Buy may be next. ? I had looked at them too as they would be a great fit in my Yukon with very little modification, but........... I would be curious to hear of actual user impressions.

The XCON is a great flat sound that plays all the lows and will get loud as chit. JL and the XXX are nice, just $$$ for what you get. I am damn happy with the XCON's.

I think all the talk about breaking in a sub is BS. Play it like you usually would and they just start sounding better in a few weeks.

I have been told the same KU40. I have the big yellow top in back beside my amps and will be adding a red top under hood in the next couple weeks. I like the yellow top, does what it was supoposed to do. I am running 2 Fosgate Power 1000's and my voltage stays pretty strong above 12.5 under a full load. I only have 4ga and no big 3 right now, but in my closet sits a Crunch GP3000D that I want to hook up and see what it will do with some good strong voltage. Just too damn hot in SC right now to make me want to go sweat it out.

probably real power hungry without a way to recharge.

My box is 7.5cf for 2-15's, so pretty close to MemphisMZD's and it sounds great.

I recently bought a set of Boston Pro60se's and I like em pretty good. They have a nice flat soundstage. Rated for 125w, but I am currently sending them around 200w. Sounds good to my ears.

XCON! Yes they are a SQ subwoofer, but they get loud as shit. Best of both worlds. My 15's are in a 7cf box and they sound fuggn' great! Like Thumper posted above no boom/boom, they just hit you in the belly hard as fukc. Sweet! I love em.

Do not get the battery powered iron. I bought one trying to be cheap and it's now in the trash.

Sorry about that man, I have been there and I know it sucks. Maybe it will turn out for the best and you find something you like better. I am in sales and I would not want to do anything else. I made this decision when I had a review with a supervisor who told me his budget would only allow him to give me a very small raise. Right then and there I decided that I am going to be the one who decides how much money I make, not some balding fool who's paycheck depends on him staying under budget by making sure I dont make what I am worth. Never again! If you do the work you will make money and I get lots of time to play when things are good. Now in this economy, I am working harder than usual, but at least I am not sitting at a desk waiting on people to call me, I am going out and getting it and I would not have it any other way.

Good to know that. I always ran them on one side of the car and the power on the other side because every amp I ever bought said it could cause noise. Guess I should have actually done it myself before I offered that advice to others.

johnecon is right. Noise would be from a bad ground or having RCA's run next to the power wire. Buy the cheap RCA's unless you just need your install to look pretty for a car show. Spend the money you save on something else. : )

Look on ebay for a used Fosgate.
