Bell makes good one's, thats what i use. That said, none of them are going to help you with instant on (POP) radar and laser is difficult too. Not enough time to slow down. I usually go 5 over in town and 10 over on interstate. Never had problems doing that even when my detector goes off like a Christmas tree.

Jon, go to a fabric store or maybe even wall-mart and get some 100% polyester Ponte cloth. Stretches real nice and wont take a bunch of resin to wet it out. I agree with the above, you are going to want to put some fiberglass over it for strength. Good luck Bro.
