  1. Today I pulled out my 3 way Dynaudio 362 set today and I see that I have one tweeter blown. I don't know that I want to spend $300 on a replacement set either. I didn't love them that much. lol I am going to run passive as I have the 3-way passive crossovers and dont want to add all the extra amps to go active. I am trying to keep this to a minimum both with weight and equipment used. I am going to put the 8" woofer in the door and 3" mids with 1" tweeters in the kicks. I found that worked better when I was passive on this set so thats where I am going to start first. The passive tweeeter is a second order @ 3.5khz (12db), the mid and woofer are first order 900-3500 (6db), and the woofer is 900hz (6db). I like my tweeter to be a little bright and have a sense of air about it. More open and pronounced than most, but not overpowering or too silibant like some metal domes are. My HU is undecided as I never had a use for a DD until now. I do have the Alpine PXA-H100 so maybe I will look at Alpine for the HU and use that. I was looking at the Clarion NX702 also. The MD102 is an 8ohm tweeter and has a power handeling of 100w. It is a little larger than some 1" tweeters so it had a little more surface area, that said it was always a little too laid back for my taste. That could be because it was on the floor of the Yukon which was not optimum placement, IMO. Ideas on something would be a nice match for this?
  2. This is such a nice thread. OP, you did an excellent job describing what you want. I don't know you skill set with installing and tuning but I feel sure M5 will hook you up. I am sure he appreciates the effort on you part thus far. I am going to keep my eyes on this post.
  3. Using the ZED amp? Yes Sir. 3&4 2.5 ish would be a great start on that power. Sounds great! Gives me something to think about too. With that space I could potentially Fabricate fibergalss boxes behind the wheel wells and fire them at each other. Keep most of my trunk and keep weight down too. wonder how long this small system idea will stick. Lol I will be placing an order tonight or tomorrow when I'm home.
  4. Using the ZED amp? Yes Sir. 3&4
  5. I want 2. Out of town can't measure the trunk. What's optimum space for 2 12's sealed?
  6. This may very well be my next SSA sub. Between this one and the Dcon.
  7. Someone needs to wash the sand off his clam.
  8. And what exactly is wrong with that? Never, not once, have I considered not buying a product because it is made in China. What is your point? Chinese built products are inferior? Let me ask you this. Does SSA design their own product? Or do they pay somebody to do it then slap an SSA sticker on it? Made in USA or not I like to buy from audio manufacturers that design, test and revise their own products. Eh, you really are butthurt about something aren't you?
  9. Its a good thing. Made in the USA by people who have f rgotten more than some claim to know at a price point that is too low and they should sell for way more than imported subs, IMO.
  10. Good deal guys, please post the pics on here too for those of us that do not have facebook and prefer sex with girls. Congrats to the SSA Champs!
  11. Havent been around much, nice score Bro. You been busy Homie! Good luck on that 60 man. One thing I know about you, if thats your goal.........you will get it!
  12. Dude, I live 45 minutes from the beach! Should have me up, drink a cold beer or something.
  13. I have owned all those Fosgate amps minus the older 150 at one time or another. My first amps were the punch 45 & 150. Damn that was a long time ago lol. Thanks for posting these, brings back some real good memories!!
  14. Best advice I could ever give a young married man..... Stop asking for permission! If you have a job and $36 do what you want Then bring it home and show her what you have done. She wont leave you over it. Don't take this the wrong way but the biggest mistake young men make when they get married is letting The wife lead them around by the sack. If $36 don't take food off the table and makes you happy, do it and wait out her pouting. I have always said better to ask forgiveness than permission. 100% truth!
  15. If you like the Iphone just wait and get the new one when it's released. They are solid and easy to use. I personally couldn't live with something I could not tweak on so I will never have one. I am waiting out my upgrade until the Tegra 3 quad cores are released. HTC has said that all their phones will have the bootloader unlocked so when they are out I will be all over one of theirs. If you like to play with ROMS and kernels don't get Moto, solid build quality but locked bootloaders. The big mobile show is next week I believe so you should have a good idea of whats coming out in the next couple weeks. When they hit the stores and what stores who knows?
  16. ************* 5x post reply does nothing! Had to go to more reply options to get it to take. Tried to edit above post and it gave me an error post ID not specified. UGH!
  17. I was on mobile just a min ago. I hit post a couple of times and it does not show that it posted. So I hit it again and again and it posted all of them, but how am I supposed to know that. Android CyanogenMod 7.2.0 Reply and quote reply is just different. I cant really tell if this works or not. Seems to be a big lag and I dont think it is accepting my post when I hit post as quote. Running FireFox newest update Is there a way to turn all of < this off in my settings. I have no use for any of that and it looks messy. You guys are awesome and I love this forum so dont take this the wrong way, but I liked it better before. I know I just need to play with it some more and get used to it so hopefully I will warm up to this over time. Maybe it's just new and I need to get used to it, but I am not liking the upgrade at all so far. ****************** Okay so I have hit reply 3 times and it does nothing! 4x
  18. OKay my phone just made a mess out of that. I hit post but it didnt show as posted so I hit again, same thing. Gave up on the lap top now. Maybe its just new, but I am not liking this upgrade so far. < all this facebook twitter youtube crap needs to go while I am throwing a fit.
  19. I don't know why people make such a big deal out of gain setting. Its really quite simple. Unless you are just dumb its pretty hard to blow a well made sub.
  20. You got that right nicwatts. I enjoy bassboxing but you better bring it in middleweight.
  21. im re-installing it all this weekend. i really want to get that 57 BEFORE i rebuild. Do werk Bro! You will get it!
  22. Damn, haven't checked in on this one in a while and you done stripped her naked. WTF Bro. lol I am sure you will get that 57 my man. Once I get my new car and can park the Yukon I am going to tear that shit apart and go NUTS.
  23. Welcome! I am in Carolina.
  24. Ink looks great Papa Chop! SSA FTMFW!
  25. I would always brace the enclosure. Silly not to use bracing since it takes very little internal volume. If an enclosure is so close on the internal space you have that bracing would throw it off, its time to back up and work up a design for plan B. I agree with Sean, Window bracing FTW!
