  1. well you also have to figure in the sensitivity of the subs as well same power same car same amp same amp settings I gained .7db's going from 2 15"l7's in a 7.5ft box tuned to 35hz to a single 12" shocker sig in 3ft tuned to 33hz
  2. completely right i am trying to get across that sound system should be correct in all aspects. like a lot of the idiots that think bass is all you need and should be louder then the rest etc etc ... when it should not be should be a reinforcing punch to the music . ahhh what... umm hear read this over quickly... just the first section on interference... (pulled this off a quick google search, but it get the point across) LINK ...if u dont understand, its basicly saying that running multiple speakers producing the same sound is a no no... correct!! i would hate to say this but why not run them off the cd player the component set? it how i got mine set up right now. this is the problem i have with amping the mid's / highs you can not find the good one's for cheap. that can handle power. the only reason i do not sit here and say this is the best tweet go with these is i had about 5-6 different component sets before i liked what i have now. some from woofersetc.com that look like i bought at full priced opened boxed i was not even going to deal with the hassle of retuning 70 bucks to cost me more. which is total bs should be right the first time. btw i hear polk sr's are good speakers from some people on the web most of all the 6500 series they got silk tweets etc etc.. right now i am running cadence z series 5.25's they got silk tweets too i paid 60 bucks shipped free for mine from the cadence store on e bay and own two set of them any ways i have heard and seen good about cdt components sets. if you see what i said earlier i have had to go threw crap because of not liking what i had. you could run a set of good 8's of the other amps and use them to reinforce the mid bass in between the 12's. but not saying you need all subs they do sell 6.5 that are used as subs this is why i was thinking 8's or 6.5's it how i mite run my set up. this is so i can run the second and third amp so it not a one amp install. 20 watt head unit power is not going to keep up with 5000 watts of sub power
  3. personally I would go 2 12" aq hd3c aluminum coils would be louder than the btl's
  4. I should rename it I'm not going for sq just something loud and sounds pretty good no one will ever be there to judge it so I don't care how it would do at a sq comp
  5. ouch yeah thats how my tweets right now sound too
  6. well anything is better than the bullet tweets in there now (my focals blew when my settings got reset)
  7. ya there expensive but well worth it this is what will make or break your system in a sq comp 100% daily I don't have the time or money to have 2 comp vehicles I will have 1 s10 blazer with 4 shocker sigs and around 20,000 watts to do comps with what about these would make aiming alot easier http://www.woofersetc.com/p4996/NX30--Imag...ount-socket.htm
  8. I always forget about rainbow those zapco's would kill my wallet I'll be running 2 tweets each side angled differently to cover the whole place where I sit evenly 760 in tweets is almost as much as the subs
  9. how about these morels http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.c...tnumber=277-082
  10. wow I read 100rms (I'm using 4 of them) I'll look at other ones 10 watts just isn't going to work at all
  11. some people know that I want to switch my blazer over to sq after I get a car for bass race/db drag so here is what I have so far let me know what you think mids amp (2ohms) http://www.woofersetc.com/p6743/PCX2125--P...t-Amplifier.htm tweeter amp (2ohms) http://www.woofersetc.com/p6743/PCX2125--P...t-Amplifier.htm sub amp (at 1.5ohms) http://ampguts.realmofexcursion.com/DD_Z1/ head unit ( I have just wanted to try it) http://www.woofersetc.com/p6576/CD7200-mkI...CD-receiver.htm mids for dash http://www.woofersetc.com/p1564/ES400--CDT...;-Midranges.htm mids for door http://www.woofersetc.com/p1566/ES600--CDT...;-Midranges.htm tweeters (a pillar mounted) http://www.woofersetc.com/p7450/DRT26T--CD...um-Tweeters.htm subs http://www.soundsplinter.com/rls12_subwoof...nformation.html design for the subs and amp rack 1.5" birch 5ft tuned to 34hz carpet and velvet covered so what do you think along way away but I have wanted to do it forever any tips this will be the first real active setup I do as well

first thing I thought was phase issues
  13. my aluminum has taken 4000 daily what size is your sub
  14. I'm trying to get another couple 05xxx I would like to see how those compare
  15. don't worry I'm not the kind of person who automatically thinks sq is quiet my favorite system was 2 12" xxx off of on of orion's "the beast" amps sounded awesome and got very low
  16. ok I was just wondering because I see all of these 28 and 30 tuned boxes and that isn't really a number box even mine is going to be very low for numbers at 35hz
  17. First off I want to say I'm not trying to start anything just a thought that came to my mind. As a team are you guys more the daily/ground pounder type? I know ssa subs are geared towards sq/groundpounders so I was just wondering if you guys do the sq thing or if you do go for numbers?
  18. I would prefer ported. well he could go ported to but it's not really going to be as smooth with all types of music unless you went abc box if you have the room or a 4th order bandpass
  19. see that is what I was getting at I was just in a hurry. I know my aq has broke a baffle before and my heavier subs that would be even worse oh and I was close on the weight I have had them for along time
  20. yes if you have your low pass at 500hz and your high pass at 75hz it will only play 75-500 (well it will still play out of the range just cut way down by the crossover)
  21. kicker 10" cvr sealed box MB Quart DSC4125 alpine CDE-9874 CDT Audio Classic 6.5" 2-Way Components run the amp 3way 2 channels for mids 2 bridged for sub
  22. my sub will snap a .75" piece of mdf easy as hell thats just sitting on the box
  23. so he may need to know for his baffle. and my aq was 47 pounds if I remember right mine is a 12"
  24. why would you sell the xxx for an x-con you should make enough off of the jl to try both. The xxx is a low end monster so the x-con is probably going to play flatter and respond better. Just my take on it but I had 05 xxx's so it might be different.
  25. holy labyrinth port, looks good though. How much port area?
