  1. Interesting design. Look forward to more progress!
  2. That would only prove that the louder sub (which we will assume that's what you're trying to achieve) works better in the install than the other sub. In another install it may be switched around. So one sub isn't ever "better" than another. That's why wer figure out what the install is going to consist of before we figure out drivers.
  3. It's a demanding time for subs/recones. Finals are here and everyone is getting geared up so it may take a little longer than normal even.
  4. I've read that a lot of peole have problems with the stock alts on Escapes. It may be starting to go out..

I've had multiple amps on my boxes and have never had an issue with them.
  6. I'd get the 2 15s. More cone area and coil on tap.
  7. Wonder what it was doing before the bracing...
  8. Better be one helluva' sticker haha Buy a sub to even the costs out

  10. I'm not going to be the best person to give recomendations, but what I will suggest is that you listen to as many different drivers as possible and figure out what you like and don't like about them. From there figure out what space you have available, how you plan to mount the speaker, what power you have available, direction of the driver in relation to the listener, and what kind of tuning features you have to work with. Post anything you can figure out to give a better understanding of what your install needs.
  11. There is no definite "best" mid range speaker. Or any other class of speaker either.
  12. Nice! Interested to what you can do on the meter. Careful with that though. You're just going to want to get a higher number... then soon replace Dcons with some Zcons
  13. IMO you shouldn't replace but add to the factory wires. Just in case it messes with a computer somehow- keeps it safe
  14. Only way to know for sure is to install enerything and watch voltage. If it drops too low for comfort then add another battery or some more wire. Be sure to have the big 3 done!
  15. Why do you want to?
  16. Or could just use wooden dowels or any other strong wood that has smooth edges. Doesn't have to me metal rod, but bracing is a big factor here. Didn't even notice there was none, nice call Swift.
  17. Thought you were taking your time with this build? haha
  18. Still like the name. What kind of wire is that?
  19. Really want that 125.4. Love that they made the input terminals black. Looks much cleaner IMO.
  20. Pretty crazy. Next I want cement flex.
  21. If you have two subs sharing a box with one inverted for some reason you need to reverse the polarity. They would be "given the same directions" if not. "Push the cone away from the magnet" would mean that one sub would be pressurizing air inside the box (the iverted sub) and the other would be pressurinzing the air outside the sub, and visa versa. If you didn't have them wired differently there would be cancelation and possible damage to the subs. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  22. Nice alt! As stated, ditch the cap.
