  1. very nice, what brand? DC power? Love your avatar! lol
  2. at the rate you're knocking boxes out, you need one of these! haha
  3. of course you could use the tweeters and get the 6.5 you want and build your own crossover. (get the specs of the tweeter) or you could just get a nice amp with built in Xovers, OR a HU to do it more precisely.
  4. the Quart Xover is made specifically for the Quart's 6.5. Every driver is built differently and have different ranges of frequencies it can play. Unless you can match all the speaker's specs exactly, i say dont do it.
  5. you mean to put the sub a cardboard box of the same dimensions that you want your final box to be? it wont hold the sub. let alone play the notes accurately. you need to just build a sealed enclosure for your sub out of some 3/4" mdf or something.
  6. It seems like there are a couple batteries on the SSa store that aren't on this list. do you have a more up to date chart? Like the D or S1400. Maybe with SSA subs in the background, and not MTX?
  7. OP, congrats on the wifey and kid! they're fun (kids that is, no idea about wifes, but i love my niece and nephew!)
  8. thats not a trunk though....
  9. test what you have now, position the box differenty, use different port and sub firing positions (sub back/port back) and keep testing to see what gets the loudest. if you want to get crazy face the port and sub to cabin and seal off the trunk. tune higher if you're just going for strictly numbers.
  10. if you lower your volume knob that lowers what the amp sees, yet if you turn up the gain on the amp the power is going to greater, so it may even out. you just have to do it and see what happens. i dont suggest running at .5 ohms, but thats just me. i haven't heard good thing when RD stuff breaks.
  11. "This will be a pic heavy build and video heavy. Along with comparison pics with a 18 BL 18 XCON 15 Nightshade 10 ssd um I thinks that's it lol. I will save it to a disk and load it on amother computer and get it one here later. The only equipment I have thusfar is the comps and some wood. I guess I could post that up later tonight I'll make sure I get some pics. =) will probably be lots of pics coming soon!!! =) ^^^^ I will get some this weekend lol. I don't have internet access at my house so its kind of hard for me to get pics posted but where I'm doing the build I will get some. I have some pics and will post them up tomorrow Along with some pics. Comparison pics and build pics tonight. Maybe even a video! " and now a broken camera! ahh this thread is a tease...
  12. so far so good. any numbers yet? lol
  13. there is no set number for +- watts for a sub, it depends on the box the sub is in.
  14. pics. maybe?
  15. nice tweeter location/mod. keep the pics. coming. so far so good

ummm normally sealed boxes are too small to go straight to ported. we would need every dimension of the box to figure out the size and volume you have to work with. idk how to calculate port lenth and all that so its going to have to be someone with more experience.

lol, yeah you really need to fix that post. read the noob guild lines and edit that jumble of words to tell us what you really want to do what did you fall on? why do you have batter in your truck?
  20. emh9009 replied to castimar's topic in Sundown Audio
What, are the periods, commas, and punctuation playing hide and seek?! From what i understood... You are trying to get louder with the equipment you have now? If so, build a ported box to the sub's specs. and see if that does you any good. Do the "big 3" for your electrical if you haven't already.
  21. are you going to keep the cardboard? wood would look much nicer doors look super clean, did you try aiming the mids up a little, like jroad suggested, before you made the baffles?
  22. they look so little in there! very clean box. love your work... someday ill be in line
  23. i like the ban idea if there is no videos
  24. i just used some 16g speaker wire or something i got at napa, wired directly to the amp. tint is a good idea, but mine doesnt blind me, its located low, but still visible.
  25. lol ask an admin. thats around? any progress/plans for the weekend?
