Pretty much or you have the filter to high on the tweeters so they are dipping that low. Were do you have them crossed at? Depending on how low you are able to cross them will determine what sounds it will produce. they're advertised to go down to about 2500. i may have them set below that. when i turn the mids off the tweets have low quality vocals coming out. i think they are too extreme both ways.

Still tweaking the mids and tweets. Just downloaded Sandt's test tone files so i plan to do some fine tuning with those. Hopefully they sound even better yet. As it sits now the lower mid bass is a little lacking, i think i need to up the slope on the sub's high frequencies, and raise the frequencies sent to the tweets. On some songs "S"s are a little harsh. Side question. Should the mids be playing "most" of the music? vocals/ kick drums / background music, while the tweeters are really only focused on high chimes, bells and whistles?

Would be helpful to let people know your budget for speakers, and amp(s). install skills, how extreme you want to get installing. What you have heard previously and liked or not like about them. ultimately it's going to come down to what you prefer. If i say speaker X sounds great, that's my opinion, yours could be on a completely different pole. You should go to a local shop/show and listen to different set ups and find out what you want. There's a lot out there. This will help narrow it all down.

i still think the SSF is too low, IF you're just eyeballing the position and what it "should" be. I'm running the same amp/mids but have them running full. I had the same "problem" and messed with this stuff today as well. Got a lot louder. Also check what slope you have set for these. if there isn't much of one it can be just as bad as having the SS set too low. Sorry if it seems like i'm beating a dead horse, but im just not satisfied with you "think" it's not the problem. Its worth a shot at least?

They weren't good enough for you. So you turned them off completely to have no front stage at all at the moment? Try tuning the SSF higher?
