  1. Alrighty, so i finally got my front stage installed. But when i first turned everything on each speaker has just about as much, if not more, static than music output. I tried messing with the Xover setting and such, but nothing seemed to change it. Amp: Sundown 100.4 HU: JVC KDs100 Mids: AA carbon fibers Tweets: Seas Prestige 27TFFNC/G (H1396) I've only tinkered with the speakers playing for ~10 minutes, for fear of damaging anything. I'm at a loss of what could make this kind of noise, to every speaker. makes me think it has to do with the amp? All of this stuff is brand new. I did plug in one mid, might have done the other i dont remember, to my factory speaker wire from the HU to see them play, but they sounded fine. When i hooked a tweeter to the same location there was some static, i just figured that was from too low of a signal from the HU. All of these plug ins have been >1 min. All of the RCAs, 1/2 of the speaker wire, 4 gauge power wire, and a remote bass knob wire are all run pretty close together. I've seen that that can effect sound, and i've seen that power wire is so well shielded that it's out of the question now. Is this a possibility?
  2. That isn't enough. i just put 40 feet of 14 gauge in my CRX, (4 ~10 foot runs) and it was BARELY enough. i would wait 'till they have more in stock of what you want. or buy somewhere else.
  3. remember to brace your car's roof and all lol
  4. Either or. If you dont want to use the extra 2 channels, i THINK you can just run one channel of RCAs to the amp and it shouldn't tell the other channels to do any work? Again, im not too sure on this. But if you do bridge them, then just be cautious with the gain/volume knob so you dont blow nice and shiny new stuff up
  5. If the tweeters don't fit try placing them in different locations that are available to you in regards to how deeply you want to customize their new home. See what sounds the best to you and put them there. And yea, just cap the wires off, or electrical tape them or something. Just dont let them touch metal.
  6. In reality it comes down to how you tune the amp. You could have a rated 5k watt amp, and a 1k watt amp and not notice, if you've tuned them both to push "800 watts". So if you're asking if one is going to be louder at gain level X than the other, than i would say no. The difference would be how hard the amp has to work to get to the required wattage you want, which will put your electrical in check. Going with the 5 and 1k watt amps, it will be much easier for the 5k to do 1k watts than the 1k amp. That is where the head room comes into play. Anyone correct me if i'm wrong. this is just how i see the situation.
  7. You tell me if you can hear them. I dont know what your car sounds like. They could fit, just have to check and see. No harm in trying.
  8. of course. i have 2 Kicker L7 12" (2009 model) i gotta really good deal. i just need a box and amp(sundown 2500.1). and the BIG 3. i will have to have wires coming from both amps right? For that power, yes. He was thinking that you could run 4 gauge from the front of the car to the rear at a distribution block which then would split to two different amps; the sub amp and the comp. amp. But that was assuming much less power goals
  9. "Kolossus Fleks Kable 8 Gauge Blue (Smoke) Power Wire features 805 Tinned Strands of Pure Oxygen Free Copper and a new UltraFleks Matte PVC Jacket. Our new jacket allows for improved flexibility and maintains exceptional resistance to abrasion, oil, and extreme temperatures (-40 to 105 C). Capable of loads up to 50A @ 20'."
  10. Yes, knu offers wire kits that aren't full copper. that kit i sent you is. There are different kinds of kits. I also say no rear fill, but if you really want to, go ahead. It's your car. I would assume they will fit, yes do you have stock tweeter locations?

Welcome back, there has been too much good stuff to list what you've missed. But i dont know when you were last here
  12. For simplicity i would get this kit http://www.knukonceptz.com/productDetail.cfm?prodID=KFX-AK8 Again for simplicity as a first install, you will be running passive with your speakers, if you're planning on using the Xover that the comps. come with. Dont run any speakers off the HU power, just use the amp and your bravox comps. You want to mount the speakers to something solid. Like the metal part of your door, if needed a plastic/wood baffle to hold the speaker there. You can use the stock one if the speaker fits. I think what M5 was getting at was NOT attaching the speaker to the door card or something flimsy like that. you need a solid base.
  13. Tiny little buggers, wish i had use for one...
  14. SOLID 10s. They are being put to work, very nice! X2 on more info? power?
  15. Tha joker We do it for fun
  16. X2, those doors are meant to be deadened lol i've got too many scratches from doing mine. Your doors are just unfair! Looking good, man.

  18. So. There is no law saying you have to have rms power. X2, just be smart and niece to the volume and gain knobs. You don't have to get the sub "fully loaded" talk with them about what you're planning to do and they can tell you what you should need to get, if any of the options. That's what makes them custom. If they were meant to be sold fully loaded to each and every person they wouldn't give you the options.
