Requesting comments on my new setup
I've had kinetic batteries. They were ok. But didn't last as long as I'd like. For the money I'd run Deka. If you look around you can find group 31 Deka blems for just over 100 plus shipping.

Battery? Alt?
My setup is going in a 95 Cadillac. It uses a common gm alt that was factory equipped as 200 amps for ambulances and limo's. So a rebuild to a higher amperage is easy to get and cheap. It'll be no dc power. But should be enough for my setup. Probably not something available for your car. If I was you I'd go dc power and not have to worry about it.

Battery? Alt?
You might be able to save a couple bucks by going with a Deka battery. And somebody around here sells blemish Deka 9a31 batts for a good price. I think he's out of Kentucky. That would be a good second battery to put in the back of your car. As it definitely wouldn't fit under the hood. I'm going to run a blem 9a31 in my trunk. I have an almost new interstate megatron up front. And will be running a 240 amp alt rebuild.

single xcon 18 vs 2 icon 12s
Maybe you should block off your port and have an optimal sealed box for you 18" xcon.

loudest $300 sub
You could get the two sub and box deal from Skar. 2-12" vvx-12 subs in a box for 350.

single xcon 18 vs 2 icon 12s
Are you running ported or sealed now? Will the icons be ported or sealed? I'm guessing this is a sealed 18 vs 2-12's ported question?

Skar vvx12 Down fire vs rear fire for suv box
You probably want more than I'm going to spend on sub and box, but I'll bite. PM sent.

Skar vvx12 Down fire vs rear fire for suv box
I want to be able to completely load the back of my jeep with gear and or bags. With a downfiring setup. I can pile bags on top and next to the sub. My other option is sub and port back. I also like the fact that with a downfiring box. It's less noticeable to thieves. Maybe I'll just go sub back and port back.

Skar vvx12 Down fire vs rear fire for suv box
I want to have a smaller sub for when I travel or haul things. I currently have a 4 cu ft box with an re sx15 firing up and port back. It doesn't leave me much storage room in the back. Since I can't stack anything on top of the box, or by the port. So I'm thinking about a downfiring rear firing box for one Skar vvx12. It would be on the drivers side. Aprox 14" wide, 13" tall, and 27" long, with 4-5" feet on the bottom. The port would be about 4" off my hatch. I'm thinking about a slot port 2" high and 12.5" wide. Net volume 1.7 tuned to 32 hz. This is for daily listening at reasonable volumes. I'm looking for a 5-600 watt amp to run it off of. How much room should I have between the sub and floor? Should I put an mdf false floor under the sub, to keep the carpet from absorbing the sound? How far does the port need to be from my hatch? Should I fire the port back or down?

Avalanche 18 LLT build
The chimney is cracked. It was like that when I bought the house. So it's been sealed up for a few years. I was going to put in a gas insert, and Sheetrock over the ugly brick and wood paneling. And then I decided to go a little crazy with the home theater instead.

Avalanche 18 LLT build
I would probably get more output that way. This isn't the optimal location for the sub. But it was the best compromise to fit with everything else. And even not being optimally placed it should still be more than I need.

I've got a set of wharfedale zaldek towers. They sound pretty good and will get used untill i can afford to build a set.

Disregard the port placement on this one.

Avalanche 18 LLT build
I've got an aa avalanche 18 d2 that was reconed by PSI. A behringer ep2500, behringer feedback destroyer pro, and Sampson s convert. I finalized my build plan. The box will be 24" deep, 22" tall, and 96" wide. Sub will have a double baffle and be mounted in the center front of the box. With dual slot ports. One on each side. It will be under my screen firing at the audience. It'll be 21.5 cu ft net tuned to 15 hz. With 92 sq in of port area. I'll post up a sketch of my floor plan and sketchup pics of the box and bracing.

Group Buy on a Zed Built Boss Audio REV-665
Good to hear they shipped. This can replace the alpine Mrp-f250 I have running active in my jeep. I'm sure the focals will appreciate the extra power.

How to power a sub in my house?..
I just ordered a Sampson s convert to boost the signal from my ht receiver, a behringer feedback destroyer to act as an eq and a behringer ep2500 to power my aa avalanche 18". I spent right at $400 for about 1500 watts rms and full tuning capability. That's a pretty good deal for that much power. I figure all together I'll be around $800 for output you'd have to pay $2-3k to get from a consumer

Avalanche 18 winisd file
I just bought an aa avalanche 18 for my home theater sub. I'm looking for the .wdr file for winisd. It seems like everytime I put a new sub in, it comes out wrong. If anybody could email me or post a link I'd really appreciate it.
-
new theater sub build and more
Do you have a winisd file for the avalanche 18? If so can you email it to me? I just found an avalanche 18 reconed for sale and would like to see how it models before I negotiate price. Something close to what your planning sounds like what I want. Except I want it to play a little higher. Like up to 60 hz.

First impression 2 sa-10's ported on saz-1500d
I was taking payments. But he fell behind so I repo'd it. Which is great. Now I can park the eldo and start installing.

First impression 2 sa-10's ported on saz-1500d
I finally got to put power to my pair of sa10 subs. I have 2 wired to 1 ohm in 2.5 cu ft net tuned to 32 hz with 40 sq in of port. They are running off my saz-1500d. And are taking it no problem. I only have about an hour of play time on them. So we'll how much they loosen up. So far I'm impressed. I'm coming from an re sx 15 in 4.2 cu ft net tuned to 32 hz running @2 ohms off the same saz-1500d. They are a little louder than the sx15, but night and day cleaner. They hit so much tighter than the sx. Rock and metal are enjoyable again. My current electrical is seriously lacking and I've got some bad voltage drop. So I know there is more in them. Over all I'm very happy with these subs. This is in my 98 grand Cherokee temporarily, soon to go in my eldo. I took some bid with my phone that I'll upload and post.

Fi q 21 or 22???
I'm building a home theater setup and was wondering if a q can be custom ordered In a 21" or 22" basket? Or if one can be reconed and basketed to that size.
