Welcome to the IHoP v.2
the throttling is genius though. much rather have it slowed down than shut off or triply charged. sort of a hint to get a better plan.

Pro 6.5 and Super Tweet Question
Using any driver outside of their logical range just makes no sense and fails rather miserably. The likelihood of this is regrettably is disproportionately high for pa drivers.

Welcome to the IHoP v.2
Amusingly I am waiting to switch for another reason. I am currently using my 3 year old "international" phone as my main phone. Switched to T-mobile which is MUCH cheaper internationally even though the coverage is really suspect here. If it works well in China/Taiwan/Japan on this next trip I'll be staying with them. If not, I am back to Verizon. Either way I didn't want to get a new phone 3mo ago for that reason and because I want to see what the new tech that comes out is. LG G3 is what most of my team got. The S6 looks to have the potentially to displace that phone as the one to buy. Not sure when HTC's new phone is coming out, but I will not buy a phone that doesn't take a memory card anymore. Regrettably that rules out the Nexus

IPhone has its place. It's for people who decided to stop thinking or learning. Just like Mac. It works well with low failures and almost always ships out completed software and updates. I would never recommend it to savvy people, but those that are not and do not want to be.... Great product. It's even better if you buy all things Apple. Your life is homogenized in a way that saves time for some. My financial advisor just got one of the iPhone 6's. He is so happy and proud. It was truly Adorbs. It makes his life better. That guy reminds me a lot of a much older you Sean. The ecosystem argument used to be valid, not anymore IMO. I think the Google synchronization is much better. Add to this the fact that you can actually buy a phone with a memory card slot which displaces the shit sandwich called the Ipod and there really is no reason at all for the antiquated POS. Half my company is Adnroid half is Apple. When we all got new phones 3mo ago most of my older sales guys switched to apple as they had the HTC DNA that had a few intermittent SIM card unseatings. Needless to say the 5 that switched are all bitching like hell at what a POS the Apple is. And these are NOT tech savvy people either.

Galaxy 6 is coming out in a week... I'd wait, Samsung is finally stepping up their game. The Iphone 6 has the specs of a 2 year old phone. I don't understand the morons that think it is worth buying.

three 15's or two 18's
If that is Net you don't have room for either of your choices in a standard 4th order ported box.

Polyurethane vs Resin for weather/water-proofing your box
This is going outside?? Remember that anything that soaks into MDF weakens the natural MDF itself. Of course with coats and layers that can be improved. Glass covered wood boats weather lakes rather well which gives you a hint to one approach that will work if it is truly going to be in the elements.

Always start with box specs. Drivers make ZERO sense to shop for until you know what you can do for an enclosure.

Super high output SQ oriented front stage
And to clarify, when I say "real pa drivers" I am not referring to Crescendo or Sundown crap but actual Pro Audio drivers. Again a huge difference. You can't have output and frequency response. Just doesn't work.

Super high output SQ oriented front stage
My, how modest. We both know the good midbass drivers with any kind of xmax will usually model out with more than .75 cuft lol He isn't looking at midbasses with lots of xmax but something with output in the pro audio domain. That is a reasonable enclosre for an 8 and some 10's for the frequency range that will be necessary. Obviously bigger volume is not easier therefore outlining a minimum makes sense. Definitely NET btw, discussing Gross volume is idiotic and off topic always.Well, I must have missed where it said this "I'm trying to come up with an idea for front stage that can keep up with four eighteens and sound clean and crystal clear doing so. Imaging as accurate as possible." That is everything, but pro audio. You're becoming too lenient now days lol. I'd still say just build the door the best you possibly can because any "mid" you toss in there will be beating the crap out of the door playing anything below 200hz when trying to keep up with 4 18's. He already agreed to the compromise. Real pro audio drivers CAN work, but they ALWAYS require a ported enclosure. Generally speaking I hate the whole desire of most people to utilize them because they don't understand the effort required to make them work. They suck donkey dick run IB. There is no midbass. A port of course helps this a ton. As we already discussed "keeping up" with 4 18's is going to mean you will spend WAY more on your front stage than the subs. That he made pretty obvious he wasn't willing to do. Now it comes down to blending with horns. If you want to do that in the midrange you either need a lot of drivers or something that has serious output. If you want to do it in midbass you need a lot of cone area. The latter just isn't a reality. He also isn't really after SQ...but doesn't want sounds like shit. Huge difference.
