  1. You have a sundown amp yes? The bass knob allows you to adjust the gain from the maximum point your gain knob directly on the amplifier is set to down to 0. Example: You set the gain on the amplifier to 5. This means the Max the knob goes to is 5 and the lowest is 0. So you cannot go further than what you set the gain adjustment to on the amplifier itself.
  2. Not sure if this has been brought up before... While frequenting the F/S section almost daily, I get confused at some things. 1. How come the idea to have it broken down into sub topics is not in place? Example: Amplifiers - threads for amps, amp accessories and wiring Subwoofers - subs, cones, motors, and enclosures Receivers/processors - double din, DVD, navigation, mp3, USB cd players, equilizers and crossovers Speakers - coaxials, component sets, mid bass, tweeters 2. Why isn't there a way the seller can mark the thread as closed or all goods closed? I can't tell you how many times I've gone into a thread thinking the items were still available only to read all the posts and realize the items are sold or no longer for sale. The easiest way I think this could be done is to have a button for the seller, maybe one stating "End Listing" or "All Items Sold" or "Close F/S Thread". This button would automatically notify a mod or admin that the F/S thread can be closed/locked for good so no one can post or go lurking to are if the items are available. Also the would then modify the title to either finished it closed. I know I haven't been with the community but I thought I might throw up some ideas and see what kind of responses this might have. Hopefully I'm not overstepping any kind if boundaries, just thought it may help.
  3. Soooo... song request here: Oktober - so cold might come up as: celph titled - so cold

  5. XS power or Kinetik all day.... Die-hard is a good battery for a car, but with car audio in mind it was not intended... I just linked a general this vs this article...
  6. GOOGLE says...... http://www.ehow.com/about_5510631_wet-vs-dry-cell-battery.html

  10. nice find... the audio files are not allowing me to save?? Do I need to do something special?
  11. I wouldn't go that far, because there are subs that are insanely inefficient and insanely stiff that require 3000+ watts to be useful. Then I'd look for different woofers. lawls!!

    welcome sir!!!
  21. lol... no need to apologize but as far as how you mentioned you original post honestly either driver could fit your needs... If you know that you want insane rattling and boom boom, I think people will guide you towards BL.. I'm not looking for insane output when I pick a driver... If it can shake my mirrors a bit and sound amazing with whatever note of bass it is given, that is the driver I pick... The Icon fit my bill so far, and I'm getting a ported enclosure built to SSA spec soon so I can see what I like more... The driver is in my car to stay... So, you have to decide what is more important, notes or output.. The Q apparently hits all the notes with a tighter punch from reviews/threads I have read and it can get crazy loud depending on the enclosure you use... The BL threads I don't frequent much since the driver is meant for a different setup type than I was totally interested in. Here are the descriptions direct from Fi's website about the goals each driver was meant for: Q: The Q Series of subwoofers is our sound quality reference line. Featuring a hefty high strength single magnet motor structure with a heavily bumped t-yoke, the 27mm of Xmax allows for incredibly detailed, tight, and powerful bass. Triple progressive spiders keep the incredible linear excursion of this sub under control, while the extra heavy lead wire feeds the giant voice coil. With technology pulled from the larger BTL line the new Q has more options than ever before. Hyper chamfer, full cooling, high or low Qts topologies, as well as the ability to add an inductance ring in the high Qts design, there is now even more flexibility within the Q platform. Working well in both small ported and sealed enclosures, you do not have to give up your trunk to have strong bottom octave foundation for the rest of your system. The Q series is the new bottom octave benchmark. BL: The BL Series fills the gap between the all out SPL monster and a solid daily driver. Featuring a chamfered solid pole piece and standard double stack motor structure with 8.660" magnets as the foundation for a truly tough subwoofer, you can choose from a variety of options to custom tailor the sub for your exact application. With the addition of the hyper chamfer, or our patent pending heli-cooling channels along with the Daily option, you can bump up the subs thermal capacity for long term daily driving abuse. Looking for an ultra tough SPL sub? Choose the SPL option, the extreme lead wire, one of the 8 layer aluminum flatwind voicecoils, add power, and let it rip. With head cracking upper bass and brutal low end, the BL handles the extremes with ease.
  22. Usually they only list "USED" items if they are available.. I guess it does no harm to ask but the first post is apparently what they have for sale, which might mean they do not have a SAX-1200d laying around to be sold.. but maybe you'll luck out and someone at sundown just ain't using one they have...
