    welcome sir!
  3. It looks as if your alternator isn't charging your batteries well.... 12.4v is very low...
  4. But why would it matter if the charger does it separately??? Will the charger put the batteries above his stated resting voltages? And then putting it in the car will maintain it???? I'm just confused about it...
  5. Thanks for the link... If it is accurate then its pretty good....
  6. ported is tuned to a certain frequency, so the enclosure would sound better at THAT frequency from what I understand.. So if tuned to 32Hz it would most likely sound better in the frequencies around the port tuning... Beyond a certain range it probably doesn't do as well... But don't quote me on that, I am no expert... That is just my guess on the subject...
  7. Why can't a ported enclosure be used in an "SQ" setup? well it sounded like he wanted strictly SQ. and to me, sealed is definately cleaner sounding. but as the OP said, he will be doing ported. subjective but I'm with you...lol
  8. Although this whole situation is "shitty" ... I think they should just give the OP money back.... It's now gone past the I'll just hang a bit stage... And whenever that product is ready, there will always be that bad taste in his mouth about the situation and he will probably not be happy either way. I understand it's not some small project to just back out of, but I think the OP should work with DC Power and ask for refund and stop asking for status of his order. This is just putting a toll on each party and the end result won't every be that satisfying. At least with a refund of his money he can go to someone else or do something else with that money... Can someone from DC Power make that happen? Refund this man's money and call it quits for this situation. It seems like there will never be a solid answer since the work is not all apparently being handled by DC Power....
  9. The fuse is there so that the wire carrying the current does not heat up and melt/cause a fire... So going higher would allow a higher current without going into protect, but if you're using a 180a alternator then I don't think it would make a difference so I would keep it how you have it..
  10. Amp grounds directly to rear battery.
  11. Im. Being told everyday that I .need to port .my Icon. Still not made a decision yet.

pretty much look at twistedchild's setups on here... he always has something huge in his Sante Fe, almost always one subwoofer and seems like 18" is common for him..

different subwoofers different enclosures... Although it is odd on paper to see the BTL require less as optimal... Wateva... Fi says so... lol

that's most likely calculated with floor to roof height... So obviously not what you're looking for... And that might even be with seats down... Not sure I'd go by that.. Do the measurements I stated... Will give you the size at largest for an enclosure... I wish I had gotten a SUV at times just for simple fact of easier box planning... My Toyota Camry trunk isn't very easy for planning/staging...

uh-oh... bad questions... I cannot explain "how tuning works" ... But basically higher frequency during competition is done to hit higher numbers usually, going lower is to more the a music thing... Measure the width of the opening of your hatch, the depth from the hatch to the seat and the maximum height you want the box... do all this in inches... Then multiply those numbers.... You now have cubic inches.... Then plug that number into the blank field on this page... http://www.metric-conversions.org/volume/cubic-inches-to-cubic-feet.htm

I'd say stick to 15 but, you need like 5-7 cubes for an 18' SSD in a sealed application... depends on type of enclosure as well... Ported I think it goes 8-10 cubes man... That's not small...

you dedicated the whole trunk area for bass?

    crazy nice man!!!

18 requires alot of space man... what vehicle is this again???
  22. You'd have to keep gains down in order to keep alternator from overworking itself... With 2 BLs I think you'll be fine pinching your gain to almost nil... Right???
  23. Shogen replied to jaymoung's topic in Fi Products
If he takes 150 for the whole kit and kaboodle, then do it... otherwise it's not worth the hassle of buying it from someone off craigslist... Will he let you go see it "in action" ?
  24. /rant... lol ... I'd vote for keeping the Hertz, although I have read a few good things about Hybrid Audio... Keep the HERTZ and install better with a nice amp....
  25. Happy BirSday ladies!! Enjoy yourselves!
