  1. Well the only thing I could say may be something I did now that you are referencing that... I used zipties to hold the CCF on the wiring inside the box... Maybe I'll use some nylon string since I've got everything out... If I free-air and def find the subwoofer not to be a problem, should I re-mount it in "new" screw mounts and fill the old ones in? I only ask because I noticed that just mounting the subwoofer twice has made the screws feel not so tight...
  2. No, but I don't have anything inside the trunk that I think could be making the noise... I also put my ear to the subwoofer and it def was coming from it or behind it....
  3. ARGHHHH!!!! But if I do that then I have to set SSF more accurately and I can't just bump irresponsibly.....
  4. Get a new box then??? I don't know if it is worth the time trying to "fix" it or even finding the problem.... It's not an easy one.....
  5. Get some SA-8's and maybe ported....
  6. UPDATE: I think my new enclosure took a shit on me... I kept hearing this metallic flickering sound at high output from the subwoofer... Did alot of work inside the box: 1. Re-sealed the box edges 2. Cut interior wiring shorter as to not have too much inside the box faffing about.. 3. Covered the interior wiring with CCF from SDS to eliminate the bouncing inside the box. Sound was still there on certain songs and full output... Talked to Sir Lancelot who advised me to do some free-air testing. I was only able to do a few minutes at 50Hz, luckily no sounds but will do some more testing later on. Maybe to some 20-40Hz tones a little louder than I was with the 50Hz.... What else could I do to test for the sound? Is free-air basically the best and only way to test for it? Thanks to Sir Lancelot for helping me out at 2am a few night ago and liljestrand as well.... Good fellas!

  10. real nice equipment man.... real nice!
  11. I base my not caring what that kind in the video does off the simple fact that he drove to that park/field with a Bud Light in his cup holder??? My thoughts, "this guy knows how to set things up...i guess" that's it, it ends there....
  12. i like 1 ton woofers.. means they are good... lolz
  13. SA-8's dude... In optimal setup SSA 12 would be better but you don't have optimal apparently... Go with the SA-8's... kbye?

also if the guy doesn't really know the specs for the box don't buy the subwoofer.... Chances are he abused teh shyt out of the subwoofer and you don't want to buy abused equipment... And I can totally understand the whole touchscreen crap... I love my phone but I no longer text or post from it like I did my BlackBerry...

  18. Also the welding supply wire has a pretty high strand count, so it's pretty malleable. Can twist and bend easily around obsticles.
  19. Monster is very good wire but I just recently picked up 50ft from weldingsupply.com and it's HQ.
  20. nice thanks for putting me onto that song..... great note drop in the intro... lol

I think people possibly perceive SQ as a cleaner signal.. which may seem like it's louder/clearer at lower volumes.... I don't know but I can notice a slight difference between a shit amplified signal and a good one more within home application though, tough to say in a car...
  22. The problem might lie in the starting battery, he has mentioned that his rear batteries are Kinetik HC2400's.... What is your starting battery???
  23. I want "THE ONE" ... even thought I have no subwoofas!! lol
