  1. I tried to look at the manual above and it said I don't have permission to view the attachment. Why is that?
  2. If it was me, I would get the HO alt and a couple good batteries. You could always install the amps and monitor voltage very closely while playing and go from there. Just don't let it dip too low.
  3. Better for what? What are your goals?
  4. Haha, me too every once in a while. It seems to be the older ones the most.
  5. crazytexan: fast payment easy to work with Thanks
  6. my gain was probably 1/8 of the way turned up. is that ok? You should set it with a DMM or Oscope if you can. But 1/8 seems a tad on the low side unless you have a line driver.
  7. I agree, and make sure everything is adjusted flat or to 0 when setting gains.
  8. If your pioneer is anything like mine the bass boost ups the bass to the sub and the speakers. Sublevel control is just the sub. A bass knob for an amp can vary from amp to amp.
  9. The loud function boosts the high and low frequencies. It is useful for low volume listening to help it sound a little better. It should be off when setting gains. If you set with the loud off, dont use it a high volume or you will more than likely start clipping.
  10. I upload photos to photobucket. Then you find the image you want to post and copy the image code from photobucket and paste it in your post on here. No insert image is needed.
  11. Hip hop or drum and pass wasn't meant to overpower everything. Agreed. In a true SQ setup everything should be well balanced.
  12. I think, in your case, you're using a definition of SQ that the OP isn't. I think it's safe to assume this is more "keeps up with most music and sounds good but can still whang," not the OCD staging and designing that SQ fanatics think of. After all, SQ just stands for "sound quality", and you can want that in a setup that also gets mega loud. True, but....Check number 15 click
  13. so what is the airspace for the 18s, and the airspace for the 15s, and i guess tomorrow i can measure what i can give up and go from there. I am not familiar with nightshades so someone else will have to help ya on that one.
  14. If you have enough space for the 18s to be in the right enclosure then do that. If you only have enough airspace for the 15s then go that route. If you choke down the 18s in too little air space the 15s in the correct airspace have the ability to sound better and louder. It depends on the install. More cone area has the potential to get louder in the right install.
  15. i know what your saying bout cone area So what exactly is your question? Are you trying to decide between 15s or 18s?
  16. Yeah, cops AND crooks. Gotta bump respectively sometimes.
  17. Well, an 18 has more cone area than a 15 so if you want more cone area 4-18">4-15" Not sure if that is what your question is. Not to be a jerk, but, punctuation helps us understand what you mean.
  18. Thorshammer...I was just reading your sig and couldn't help myself. How is that 220 amp alt working for ya in the trunk? LOL
  19. Well apparently WinISD isn't accurate so that kinda sucks. But if you end up wanting a different box I can design one with a 3D shot and cut sizes.
  20. Is there a program that can accurately display response? Or is using some tones and a meter the only was to map the frequency response?
  21. If you get a box extremely large like 18ft^3 than it will be like playing the sub in free air. The larger you go in box size raises the ease of bottoming out. But don't let that fool you, you can still bottom a sub in a tiny enclosure.
  22. OOPS! I wasn't going off of the programs recommended enclosure if that is what you are talking about. Or is that program bad alltogether?
  23. Yeah, I was just playing in WinISD and 9ft^3 tuned to 30hz would get you the lows you want. You would probably need to be careful not to bottom them out with a box that large and tuned that low. I can design a box for ya once you figure out what you want to do.
  24. If you let us know what you did and didn't like about that box we can probably be much more effective in helping you out. What kind of power were/are they getting? Where was your crossover set?
  25. Here ya go. A comparison of the two. Click
