Cerwin Vega STROKER-102
Why didn't you say you were just going to resell them in the first place? That would have cleared up the confusion pretty quick! If you already have an amp and a head unit, why not play around with them for a while safely before selling? I used to do that quite often. Find some stuff on craigslist, buy them, try em out for a month or two, then resell them while trying to not loose any money! Good way to test lots of equipment!

"New" JBL GTQ200!
Frostedflakejake replied to Frostedflakejake's topic in Amplifiers / Head Units / Processors / ElectricalThanks for the info guys! It was a hard battle to win it. I was really looking for an Alpine 3522 just to match my other amp but the people who were selling them when i was looking thought that they made of gold or something. (they wanted way too much in my opinion) But I have a feeling i'm going to like this guy! however, i'm not a huge fan of the power and ground inputs. I wish they were like the ones on my 3522 but oh well!

"New" JBL GTQ200!
Just thought I'd make a little thread for my new arrival! By the way, does anyone know when these guys were produced? There she is! Picked her up for around $57.00 including shipping off ebay. The seller claimed that it was in working shape and claimed that he/she had tested it before shipping out. After opening it up i'm a little skeptical, but then again I dont know a whole lot about boards. it just doesn't look as the brand new boards that im familiar with (go figure right?). Hopefully i can test it this weekend, but time is tight in my schedule. I plan on using it to power my alpine type r's i got from Swagger_Wagon! Time for more pics! Some are displaying some spots im concerned about.

Swagger Wagon468
A few weeks ago i bought a pair of used Alpine type-r 5X7's off of Swagger Wagon 468. They came yesterday and the transaction couldn't have been more pleasant. He remained in great communication with me throughout the whole process. He shipped as soon as he could and the products were packed in an appropriate manner - Tons of bubble wrap, i mean absolutely a ton, and then inside a appropriately sized box. Once i got the bubble wrap off i saw that the type-r's were exactly as described and pictured in his thread. I tested them shortly free air on my home audio "set-up" and I couldn't notice any faults. All-in-all Swagger Wagon was a very pleasant seller and i hope to be able to purchase more products form him in the future! Swagger!

SPL in a Ford Explorer
Why not use aeroports instead of a slot port? A long time ago i read in another thread that KU40 was talking about how aeroports are more efficient than slots and therefore require less port volume to have the same amount of port noise (or lack thereof) than a slot port. So if it was me, who owns an explorer and a 18btl, i would use aeroports if i bought another 18. Cause the space back there is REALLY tight for 2 18's. Tons of people have tried and have had these threads. Good luck man i hope you can make it work so then i can get ideas!

Surround Sound in Vehicle
The only complaint i hear about only putting speakers in the front doors is that the people sitting in my back cant hear them over the bass. So i purchased some rather inexpensive ones for my rear for experimenting. But yes, people sitting in the back of my car do have troubles hearing my speakers in the front doors (i DO have the stock ones in the rear doors but i didn't balance the gain knob on the external amp for the front doors to match volume level on the stock speakers in the back doors)

e-mail sent- Low Budget Amps
There is absolutely nothing wrong with buying refurbished amps from db-r. I've had my 3000d from Chris at db-r for a year now, installed for about 5 months, and it's been working fantastically. I'm almost certain its where Sundown Audio sends their amps to get fixed. The amps from db-r also come with a one year warranty. And i'll have it be known that i blew my saz-3000 via excessive shorting and Chris even fixed it for free (stupidy isn't covered by warranty). You can buy with confidence from db-r. You're getting a product thats as good as new (aside from maybe not having the bass remote) here- Just saying Hello
Welcome! I saw your post about those 21'' dp's for sale if im not mistaken! Did you read all the comments posted on that thread?? Because it's possible that the seller is ripping you off as the previous owners of the subs commented in saying that one of the subs is blown and the other will need reconing very soon and since the seller hasn't posted any pictures and hasn't responded to that comment it seems rather suspicous to me. if you haven't already, make sure to read over the comments on that thread! wouldnt want anything bad to happen oh... and welcome!!- Help me Decide
Cone area ftw! 2 12's- High Output Alternator Question
Where is the 220 amp rating coming from? What does the aternator run at idle? If its a reliable brand then i think it should do fine. Still would be a good idea to through an extra battery in the rear- 6.5 inch subs in doors!!!
im going to assume your budget involves an amp, wiring, and sound deadening so that i dont suggest something out of your budget range! One last question, are you using an after market head-unit or your stock radio? With that budget I would really look into a component set as it would probably sound best unless you have another processing unit. With that budget i would buy something along these lines http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com/store/products/Bravox-Audio-CS603CF-Components.html All the bravox sets have been getting great reviews, but unfortunately most of them are out of stock due to the amazing sell, but who knows! Maybe there will be more! Personally, this is the set i run and i've had great experiences with them! They are super clear and they are plenty loud enough for my 18" BTL! http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_14915_Boston-Acoustics-PRO60SE-Pro60-SE.html Image Dynamics sets have also gotten really good reviews, but i haven't read enough about them to suggest a single product. As for an amp, i would cruise classifieds section of this forum and elsewhere to try and find a used Sundown Audio SAX 125.2. The amount of possibilites for an amp for your mids or a component system is practically endless. However, try to stick to companies like Sundown Audio, Rockford Fosgate, AudioQue, Kicker, JL, and there are more but i'm a little tired at the moment! Try to avoid companies like Crunch, Sony, and... Boss (not entirely sure about that one). Personally, i would really hunt for a SA SAX125.2 . If you're like me and don't really know anything about sound deadening OTHER than its a good thing to have, call up Don and Sound Deadening Showdown. I've read numerous accounts of him being a great guy! Just tell him your goals and he should explain to you what and why you need to get. He's been known to suggest products that he doesn't even sell. If you really want JUST a mid range woofer and not a set, this guy looks nice! https://www.madisound.com/store/product_info.php?cPath=45_234_267&products_id=8485 - Incriminator Audio 187 Review
