Posted January 15, 200817 yr Here is 2 of 2. Enjoy....This box is off to a slow start.... if you dont know what project Im talking about, here is a thread about it http://www.caraudio.com/forum/showthread.php?t=282423Got started on this box Friday, cutting all the panels, except the bracing. Spent a little time working on the dual flare, and just couldnt get it to work. I went back to the drawing board, and tonight, got the correct spacing on the kerfs. Hopefully Chris will be able to redesign the flares with the new info. But here is a couple pics of what I have thus far. This should be a pretty cool build in the end....

January 16, 200817 yr Author looking forward to seeing how this build works are ya gonna FG the inside of that cruve ?Nope, no FG. Wood glue will be put into the grooves prior to bending it. It is VERY strong when all cured up...

January 20, 200817 yr Author Things went together really nice. There are some small gaps in the end of the flare, but on a full size panel, shouldnt be a problem to get it completely tight. Just didnt really wanna spend much time on it today, because it was just really a dry run. All in all, I'm very pleased the way everything went together. As soon as the Fi box is complete, Ill get on this full force. Shouldnt take too long to get it all finished up.

February 5, 200817 yr Author Saturday---Finally got some help today and got the second outside flare assembled. From here, it should go pretty smoothly. Next, Ill do the inner flare and bracing on this side, to make it look like the other. Then, its just a little more assembly, paint, and carpet.Tonight---Tonight, I got the second inner flare put in, as well as all the bracing cut. Should go together pretty quick now...

February 6, 200817 yr Author Small update tonight. Got the bracing put in the second chamber, as well as the sides put in there as well.As far as whats going in it: 2 AQ HDC3 15's.Turbulence, we are hoping wont be a problem. The bracing was designed with large openings to minimize it. I use this style of bracing a lot (not quite to this extent however) and I have never had any complaints of audible turbulence.
February 7, 200817 yr Author Pretty much complete with the build. Just need to add the second bottom panel. Then sand it all up, and add carpet. Should be a fun one to try to carpet....
February 7, 200817 yr Author Probably pretty close. LOL. When it's all complete Ill try to find a way to weight it.
