People here know their stuff, it's wise to take their avice. The kicker would be plenty power, and likely your best bet being you need a 2 or .5 ohm load. Your hifonics you have now probably barely does 1000 watts on a great day. Another option would be a strapped pair of sundown 1000's.

why would the hifonics barely do 1000 watts?

Because it's a Hifonics. They're not known for their rated power, they're known for being cheap.

That is because they are cheap. I have personally seen a good number of them go poof in competitions in just 2007 alone. The kicker, for daily usage is plenty of power, some are specing out close to 1800 watts. That is more then enough for those subs, if you feel otherwise, it would be best to start thinking about sub options on the SSD, or moving up to the Q, in addition worring about electrical support to a large amplifier.

ok i got 1 ssd right now with flatwind and bp power with the hifonic BXi1206D. i am thinkin about gettin another ssd with the same options and getting an amp strong enough to power both of them. so i am lookin for an amp with about 2400 rms watt power... or should i just use two amps to power the subs? if i do the two amps then im prolly gonna get two BXi1606D from hifonics. they are about $230 includin shipping each. it says 1600 rms watts but since they are overated ill say they are about 1200-1400 rms watts each... thanks for the inputs guys, any more would be appreciated even if i dont listen :)

In some cases, for a daily install, a single larger amp is easier on the electrical system then two. Also, there is a perception out there that subs need to be run at or above their rms, there is no need to unless you are chasing tenths on a termlab meter.

If you are dead set on an amp above 2000rms, you might be able to find a used Crossfire VR2000D or Orion 2500D or Kicker ZX 2500.1 for a great price. Any of those three I will trust more then HiFonics. Heck maybe even a single IA 20.1 will make you happy too.

Incriminator Audio 20.1 is a monoblock amplifier.

As far as what would happen.. refer to the top part of Denim's post.
