Posted March 30, 200817 yr This by far is will the biggest cabinet I have ever designed and to be built. The customer is using a RL-s 15 for Home Audio. The cabinet is 29" w x 29" h x 38" d and the entire beast is 1" MDF - Triple Baffled w/ the subwoofer recessed and braced like a solid brick sh!t house. The back of the cabinet is within the interior of the cabinet with a 6" space to the exterior back for mounting an plate amp. The space isolates the plate amp for the enclosure interior. The customer requested the bracing to be pure overkill to deaden the enclosure.A custom grill cover will be done that slips within the recess cutout which the front part of the grill cover will protrude beyond the front baffle. The grill cover will be held in place with rare earth magnets flush mounted into the grill cover flange and front baffle. And to complete it the exterior with be done with Mahogany Quarter Sawn Veneer.Cabinet Thru ViewSide Cut ViewBracing Cage Edited March 30, 200817 yr by Mr Cabinetry
March 30, 200817 yr Author Woah..What plate amp?Customer didn't specify the plate amp, but, he is shipping it to me along with some other stuff to finish the cabinet. He'll be bring the subwoofer to install in the cabinet when he picks it up.
March 31, 200817 yr Author Well, I did forget to mention that I will be putting a terminal cup on the enclosure, the customer wants this so he can change amps if the plate amp doesn't serve his purposes. There will be plenty of build pic's taken, the customer requested them.
March 31, 200817 yr Please don't put a terminal cup in that, binding posts are much better looking. That looks to be an interesting build and going to be one heavy box...

That looks to be an interesting build and going to be one heavy box...The customer is shipping the terminal cup to me and that is what he wants. I don't know the type/kind of terminal cup that it is.Besides, it's alittle late in the game to be telling/advising the customer as to what would be better and informing him that such a change will change the cost for which he's already dropping a pretty penny as it is - with reservations mind you for what he's paying. However, I have contacted him and will advise as such to the terminal issue and let him make that decision for himself.
