I have a 12 Q D2 w/BP power. and just got a SAZ1500D.

how much rms can a stock Q take daily. how about w/BP Power.

i know Fi recommends 1000. just think it can take more.

just want to see how much it can take to adjust the amp properly.

I'd say 1000. The box you use may even lower that.

thermally the bp optioned should take the 1500 fine as long as it is clean but keep it a little lower just to be safe. mechanically depends on the box

what do you mean by "mechanically depends on box"?

i believe nick said that a q without bp power can handle 1200 clean but anything more things start warming up id stick within recommendations at 1000, now with bp the 1500 is a perfect setup but just set your gains accordingly or you will fry things up.

what do you mean by "mechanically depends on box"?

A larger vented box reduces the power handling of the subwoofer. If I had a box that's the max recommended volume for a Q, I would send it 750rms....but that's just me being conservative...

so a larger ported box is like a sealed box, that they both need less power to push the sub,and pushing it any more will cause damage??

my q with bp power takes 1200 clean watts with joy off my hifonics 1608d

just in case you were wondering.

did i need bp power? probably not... but it was more of a user error protection for me lol

depends on the size of the two. and tuning frequency. and frequency being played.
