i have a sax100.2 in the jump seat area in my truck and i have it sealed with no fans running each channel at 2 ohms and it only gets warm and thats in Florida :-/

somewhere a hole needs to be cut for freash air weather it be to the car its self or the install. Im sure when Jacob was consulted about it he just assumed that some form ov venting was going in too

Don't get me wrong, it looks awesome, but.... As far as performance... Well, it is for show, not go...

Heat sinks only work when convection can take place, there has to be air movement. The heat from the amp causes the air to move, from cold to hot... It is real simple, if there is a path. The whole idea is to couple the heat from the sink to the air, the more air that is cooler than the sink that is drwan across it, the more heat is dissipated...

I have built maybe 10 amplifiers, from scratch. I have built an ass-load of heatsinks, from scratch. I have done an ass-load of tests on my home built amplifiers and heatsinks.... They work alot better when air flows around them...

LOL, how could anyone ever complain about heat issues with an install like that?

Don't get me wrong, it really looks awesome, you definetly have an installer that has a ton of attention to detail and takes pride in his craftsmanship. But as far as performance, that has to be about the worst thing you could do to an amp if there is no forced air cooling... Other than totally seal it up.

I was thinking all the same things. Those amps are crammed so close together and basically sealed in a tight spot. No way they WON'T run hot. The middle amp is losing about 1/2 of its heatsink because it's contacting the other amps. The two on the outside are losing 1/4 from the same thing.

I don't mean to sound harsh but looks were more important than functionality :(

Hot amps ? You guys haven't seen an Audison VRX 1.500 running at 0.75 ohms with stock cooling :D

I'm sure he and his installer will solve the thermal issues - no need to be negative :)

I'm going to close this thread so there is no un-needed arguing.
