If anyone has a few minutes extra, check out Neils very detailed review of the ICON. He spent a long time testing it.

Yeah, it's a good read.

Of course I wonder why. We have a two car garage and here is what is "in" it:

Audi A6

BMW M5

Silverado

19' Bass Boat

19' Canoe

Honda CB750

Polaris 600Edge

Polaris 600XCSP

Snow trailer

I won't even list all of the random things, but will say that my cylinder index is way beyond my age.

I haven't hit my age yet :(

I actually was referring to the fact that usually old people have more, not exceeding my age; however, I am sure I have more than double your age and am working on closing that gap for me as well.

she wants a 12, and mach5 shipping sucks for me. it'll probably be one of the new AA subs and some amp that'll do 500-800W

tune a little high and she should be happy

Drive over and pick it up from Aaron.

Ok, got a question. What is the point of HD-DVD and Blu-Ray DVD? A good upconvert DVD player will upconvert to 1080p standards and isn't that what HD DVD and Blu-Ray play at? So if you have an upconvert DVD player that'll do 1080p wouldn't having HD or Blu-Ray be a pointless gesture?

i don't understand them 100% but what i THINK is that the upconverting is a fake 1080p, kinda like taking a 128kbps mp3 and upconverting it to 320kbps. It's not nearly as good as a recording that was originally ripped in 320, but possibly better than 128. the HD-DVD and blu-ray are actually a higher quality recording.

HD-DVD is 1080i. Blu-ray is 1080P but not all. Most of the 1080P Blu-ray discs are for the PS3 and as I've been trained it's almost impossible to tell a difference between i and P unless it is a video game which of course contains computer aided graphics. Also for note, if you sit more than 7 feet away from your TV, you cannot tell the difference betweem 720 and 1080i/P.

HD-DVD and Blu-ray are both 1080p.

Video games are obviously all computer generated graphics, but that doesn't have anything to do with it. Movies are recorded at 24 frames per second (fps), which is less than the 60 fps that 1080p is capable of and the 30 fps that 1080i is capable of. Frame rates in video games can vary greatly and are often in excess of 30 fps, which is why you can see a difference.

The size of the screen is a huge factor as well as viewing distance when determining the number of pixels required for good picture quality. Let's say you have a 72" screen (62.75" x 35.3") ... at 720p (1280x720) resolution, this gives an effective resolution of 20.4 PPI (Pixels Per Inch), meaning each pixel is 0.05" x 0.05" ... at 1080p (1920x1080) resolution, this gives an effective resolution of 30.6 PPI, meaning each pixel is 0.033" x 0.033" ... Now this may sound miniscule, but the human eye (based on human w/ 20/20 vision viewing black vs. white) can resolve 0.003" pixels per 10" of distance, meaning that you can still resolve pixels up to 9 feet on the 1080p model and up to 14 feet on the 720p model. Now, with a 32" model (27.9" x 15.7"), this is reduced down to 4 feet (1080p) and 6 feet (720p) respectively ...

Yes, yes, thank you for the correction. I knew I was forgetting something, but I kinda got a crash course.
