Went to the Doc yesterday for mommy's first checkup. We ended up doing family histories and what was supposed to take less than an hour ended up taking three.

Thanks everyone. I don't know any details yet. She came home from work and went straight to bed so we haven't had time to talk.

It's just coming from every direction now. MY mom just had surgery to remove her gallbladder (sp?), and a liver biopsy. The baby momma's momma just had skin cancer and they think they got it all. My other buddy who's been battling cancer since birth is in chemo now, and they don't think he's going to make it much longer, and now this.

I'm thankful no one in my close family has had that burden.

My grandmother on my dad's side has lymphoma, it sounds horrible but it'll be merciful if she doesn't make it another year. They've just been in absolute denial of the whole thing, I think they've been in for treatment once but never followed up anything. They've been dysfunctional for so long, they just can't deal with the situation at all now.

Stay strong, and it sounds like your family does that well. The alternative is a lot worse, believe me.
