Last time I built speakers they were over 6't tall though. :D

why do they have to be that big? Those speakers actually require an enclosure that big?

That particular design does... Theres a reason that design is called BIB (Bigger is betters). :)

There are a few of us from the other side of the state. :)

Hoffman's Iron Law.

If you want lots of output with not a lot of power, and the speaker you're using doesn't have a lot of linear travel...there's going to be some big peekas goin' on.

You can run Eminences (and Fostexes, for that matter) in bookshelf sized enclosures, but they wouldn't have balls in the midbass.

I tend to like my midbass without balls :)

And BIB's are actually very small for horns, the footprint is next to nothing.

Compare that to something like a Decware Imperial Horn...I wouldn't have a chance at even getting that up the stairs.

What about Italian dicks?

Let alone lifting something that requires 6 sheets of ply per side....

What you guys think...

2000 BMW

or

1997 BMW

I'm such a sucker for black but the 97 is already 10 years old and I need a DD that will last me for atleast 4 years

EDIT: By DD I mean a car that will be driven to work (5 miles) everyday, wal-mart runs, 65-mile trip about every two weeks and very occassional road trips. = <10K per year

I would shoot for the 97, and maybe see about getting the price down a little.

Who wouldn't hesitate to drop an imperial horn on you while carrying it up the steps. :D The BIB's can be handled . My fat arse ain't carrying damn imperial horns up steps. :)

I want to build a pair of Imp horns for the woodshop at home... but I would have to build a entire subframe with handles and heavy duty caster wheels in it for moving...

I don't want to have to try to manhandle 400+lbs of speaker...

Uhhh.....

What?

The?

Hell?

Inside joke , Think me myself and Irene the scene when they are having a cook out

Dave and his neighbor like grilled italian sausages . Put the two together and ................ :)

That and I constantly give Dave chit about how much the sausages resemble body parts . :)
