Looks like I'm going to start my 2.1 HT project. :)

I cannot wait until I can afford a new receiver amp to do just that for my downstairs and bedroom.

Oh and thank you Scott for helping out with the spammer.

I want to build my own... 2 channels is all I need, even for movies. This is all going in my 18'x12' bedroom anyways.

Will be building cabinets, subwoofer enclosure, tv stand with intergrated equipment & book stand, as well as put the plate amp in an enclosure (for portability) & subwoofer enclosure under my bed.

I would do something in the living room, but it already has a 5.1 of my brother's, and I much rather be able to listen to my music in the privacy of my room.

Sounds like a plan, take pictures when you get to it. I have been telling Mark Rogowski about my HA plans to do an almost all Mach5 system. The MJ will replace my old HK 8" down stairs, and the MAW-12 will move upstairs for the bedroom.

I'll be using one of my combinations of Mach5 subwoofers for my low end, that is for certain.

10,12, or 18? you should just grab a 15 to complete the set. :P

Well, the 12 is in my little brother's truck, so not it.

I currently have the 3 10s, the 18 & you know what else :)

I need the subwoofer amplifier to get my testing underway, finally.

I will follow your HA build up, because I will need to get ideas from it. :)

Was going to do a 2.1 HT but decided it was little too much money at the time. But now I'm working so it may be a little different soon. I want to build some of these for my laptop, but don't have too much time nor can I really find amps that are "good" because I don't know much about or have the time (there it is again) to learn about it.

I will follow the thread as well because if you like it enough I may just play copy cat :P

El Capitan ygpm. :captain:

NO baby talk

A group of kindergartners were trying very hard to become accustomed to the first grade. The biggest hurdle they faced was that the teacher insisted, " No baby talk! You need to use 'Big People' words."

She asked Chris what he had done over the weekend. "I went to visit my Nana." "No, you went to visit your GRANDMOTHER. Use 'Big People' words!"

She then asked Mitchell what he had done. "I took a ride on a choo-choo." She said "No, you took a ride on a TRAIN. You must remember to use 'Big People' words."

She then asked little Alec what he had done. "I read a book," he replied.

"That's WONDERFUL!" the teacher said. "What book did you read?"

Alec thought real hard about it, then puffed out his chest with great pride and said,

"Winnie the chit!

Good news, I'm all caught up on sleep.

Bad news, I slept through a test today for my one credit fine arts requirement class. Sent an email to the prof asking if I could take it with Wednesday's class, but eh. It's pass/fail, and missing anything = F. Don't think it affects the GPA though...

If the course is failed, the "F" is considered equivalent to an "F" received under the "A-F" grading system and is included in calculation of the GPA.

That's some bullshit.

I didn't want to use the last course withdrawal option I had on a shitty 1 credit arts class, but it's looking that way...

Why those?

Amazing midbass doesn't happen out of tiny enclosures...:)

Wow, my prof's not the asshat I thought he was :)

My three withdrawal credits are safe...for now...

Indeed.

But truly unruly midbass comes from large enclosures and large drivers. :D

No need, the speakers are no more than 3 feet from my ears on axis when sitting at my desk. I can't imagine how loud it will be with 60+ Watts going to it in this small room. Later I'll add the MLi65 for bass duty.

I had a Best Buy special stereo with "surround sound" It had Ported 3" speakers and made enough bass to piss off my neighbors neighbor.

Now to learn about crossovers... anybody have any reads?

I just need to move, I have all the hardware and the drivers but no time or space to do anything with them.
