i think 6.5k is my redline...but when the programmer gets bought..lol....

also, it's the 100mph limiter that's really going to get me...again until the programmer gets bought..hehe

Don't get a hypertech. Those are loads of crap. Find an automotive forum for your truck and find somebody who does tuning. You should be able to get everything you want done for your truck for 75-100 bones.

there's a guy in warsaw, IN who will do it for $30 plus shipping both ways...i jsut have to send him my computer. but i don't about all that..lol....i'd think that would void my warranty, whereas the hypertech can be erased in just a few clicks and then re-installed.

also, a friend of mine is going to sell me the hyper tech (used it on his 03 silverado) and he swears by it!

now, i'm not taking his word over yours...but he is going to let me plug it in and see ifit will work before i buy it. if it doesn't work, he's going to lower the price to reflect sending it back ti hypertech to get it reflashed. not a bad deal considering he's only asking $275 for it as is...

we shall soon see....lol

what, no nick? it's 8am where he is!!!

nice to see ryan is enjoying work..lol

Truck is clean as hell!!!

Even buffed whole thing

Oh well, just have to keep looking

Made a little money on the side

I was sitting at car toys and some guy was complaining about how much they were going to charge him for an install on his truck. Well, I needless to say ended up doing it for much less, and still ended up making $100 :D

$275... Wow. The highest price I got for mine was $175 shipped. I certainly wouldnt pay 275 for that.

And about the warranty issue. I seriously doubt the dealership would scan the computer that deep for codes and even if they do, why don't you buy a seperate pcm that is still stock and have your performance pcm and if you need some warranty work, just swap them out. The custom tune can do much more than the hypertech and a seperate pcm from a junkyard should only be like $100. Just get that one tuned and give the guy your vin number and he can change all of that out. Plus you wont have any downtime.

Bofore you do any of that Kent, I programmed my truck and it seemed to have no affect. You should save your money for a while then buy a vortec supercharger :D

I had on for a while but sold it cause I was in a tight sopt for cash, biggest mistake I ever made.

Well, I seem to be the only wh0re in this place at the moment

Wonder what good old Nick is up to?

where for $175 shipped??

i wa stold that having seperate pcm's wouldn't work, or possibly wouldn't. i thought about that...but accurate mileage and other factors are keeping me from doing it.

and liek i said, jim said he noticed a huge difference. but don't forget, i'll also have a throttle body spacer and intake as well as cat-back exhaust. next will be a mass-air flow sensor.

jntar, i'd love to throw a 'charger on it, but right now $$$ for one just isn't feasible.

and i get to try the programmer for free, only have to buy it if i like the results. so why not?? lol...

but thanks for all the input, and by all means keep it coming...maybe we'll thrash enuff backa nd forth that i'll get the solution i'm looking for!

$175 shipped was my highest offer. Those things go used to dirt cheap for camaros. I'm not so sure about trucks. Look on some chevy truck forums in the used for sale section. And about using multiple PCM's, when I got my mail order tune, I paid the core charge and the guy shipped me a tuned PCM. I just had to give him my VIN number to program into the computer. I'm sure you could get your buddy to do that to a PCM you find at the junkyard and just swap whenever necessary.

And I wouldn't fudge around with cat back exhaust, Just go headers and a cutout. Or maybe straight pipes. Headers will give you the best gains. Find some nice longtubes and call it a day.

headers, hiflo cats are on the short list to get bought...lol...

but i've already done the cat-back....v-force muffler and 3" pipe.

i'll hit up a few chevy truck forums and see what's up for sell. any one's in particular u guys are fans of?

thanks again, i'd love to gain some performance, especially if i do the dual 18" solo's...lol...
