  • Chill- Lemme break it down as simple as I can on some of us here. The IHoP is like a big dysfunctional family. -M5 would be the uncle everyone respects and takes advice from. We may not like how he p

What do you guys think....

18" fi Q

or SDX 15.

it would be sealed. I have more than enough power for either with my saz1500....

I would have to really watch the gains with the sdx however.

I tend to steer away from XBL2.

Details ?

:)

Personal preference and I guess some what comes with it. SSA will not have an XBL2 driver.

How about just an under-hung, large excursion driver, something rather efficient like a pro-audio driver?

Red portion above is in the pipeline. :)

mmm, any protos I can buy and test in the Volvo ? fing05.gif:lol:

Not going to get you a prototype before I get one.:P

Interested in said high excursion woofer... Especially if available in 10" for Street A.

Motor width and suspension travel needed won't allow the use of a standard 10" 12 spoke. :(

Guess I'll be using a 12" for street A.

Aaron, I am going to have to send you the sketch ups of my super 10" driver that I was designing before a bankruptcy occured.

Somehow I don't think 'stealth' and 18" Q should be in the same sentence...

Why not, my idea of a stealth install had 9" woofers in the door.

I wil FG a large portion of the side of my truck and work in the woofer. I am just not sure FG will contain an 18" as solid as it would need.

The sides on the rear end of the expedition will be just BARELY tall enough to make it look make it work. It will be quite modded. Maybe I should call it a "re-worked factory install" not stealth.

=)

Only earned 203 out of 205 cumulative points for my online class :(

Just out of curiosity, how much are the 140 MIG welder setups going for these days

Rough math looks like I am around 23.5-24 MPG right now. Not bad for that car. I'll figure out the exact number later. I think the first mod will be a cold air intake.

not bad. i'm currently looking to do a tonneau cover on the silverado, nerf bars (the wife is just too short) and a 2" leveling kit. for the gas mileage though, the tonneau cover is the first thing. might do cold air and an exhaust as well. it is kinda quiet, lol.

There is still a tiny market for hi power SPL 10's, but the hard thing for us is we are too small to really do any specialty stuff yet. But I would be very interested in what you have in mind. As there is a possibility to do a 10" version of those 18" prototypes in the SSA section, they would be totally useless for daily to do basket and suspension limitations.

My basket design was made to use an 11.1" single slug motor on a 10" subwoofer. It would have had to have been inversely mounted or mounted from the inside of the box. Traditionaly 12 spokes aren't known for their xmax clearances either. In either regard, someone should really come out with a tall basket design for a 10" woofer for extra x-max clearances. I have a few sketches (not an artist by any means.) My basket idea, while not original was a 4 spoke, much like on the ixl's, it allowed for a much larger xmax while sacrificing mounting depth (meaning it was a rather tall sub).

Getting smashed by storms, friends and I are drinking in the basement. :)

We just went out and played in the street in the water, it was about 16" or so in the deep spots in the streets.

sounds like fun, I had to drive through that storm (now that was interesting), and then it hit me in OKC last night

We could not get my roommate off the damn World of Warcraft game all night... Hell, two chicks on his bed straddling each other didn't do anything.

looking forward to getting to Kansas :)

didn't think I'd ever say that....

... wow.

I did like dun brothers, but I didn't really pay attention. I am not prepaired to spend 2k on coffee gear just yet. I would love to try a cup though.

I am partial to espresso, and that is what those machines are for correct?

yes, the machine is not as important as the grinder. If you had a $700 budget, I'd spend $500 of it on the grinder and $200 on the machine.
