You think the HAT L841 combo would really be worth $712.50 (thats after the hopeful 25% discount) I wanted to use them in my Silverado, but it seems I could get a lot of speaker for $700. (of course this is talking future) I can't even get my damn temporary setup in there

That would be half as much as I paid for my car

having heard the L631 combo..... maybe

Getting a little annoyed with the redundant company sections on SMD. It under minds the point of SSA even having them, as in why have a dedicated and official company forum for a central location for information when it is split up between multiple sites. It honestly is a little copy cat in my opinion, there are plenty of other companies out there, there is no need to copy ours that I worked on and established a relationship. And yes, DC is here, but not for long with the way the forum is being supported here.

I HATE OLD LADIES ON THE ROAD!!! PLEASE take their license's away!

I almost lost the car today on lunch break when this old lady pulled right out in front of me in her brand new 09 Toyota Camry. I had to squeeze between her and the oncoming car then swerve back into the road before the "median" area became a concrete curbed median area.

The last wreck I was in where my moms 97 F250 Powerstroke and a brand new 07 Corrolla were totalled was because an old lady driving the Corrolla swerved in front of me!

People seriously wonder why I get nervous when old people are driving around me, and this is the perfect example why.

EDIT: Not to mention I can remember other situations where an old man changed lanes and put me into the shoulder on the highway

I feel ya. Its a great way for them to gain business and you to gain members, but that does really suck when they have another "company" section when the same questions will be getting asked twice.

come on, do you really think the common factor is old people? isn't that discriminating? a little mean?

if you look closer you'll see what the real problem is....not old people, but WOMEN drivers. that's who we need to take the licenses away from :-D

i was talking about the quality of their install, not the products

Boston set up looks like hell.

The JL looked very clean to me.

Big game tonight, we are the 3x in a row League winners from our league, going up against the 3x in a row winner from the other league. But sadly, we could be without goalie or a starting defender.

With all the mechanical eng./physics people on here, maybe I can get some ideas :)

I'm thinking about building a new plinth & base for the VPI turntable. Currently, it has an outer base to which the motor is bolted to, and there are four Sorbothane pucks (about an inch thick) that the plinth sits on. The idea is that the mounting pucks are the only thing separating the plinth/platter assembly and the motor. I'm wondering if this can be improved upon with a little ingenuity.

Currently, the plinth is nothing but 3/4" MDF, I'm wondering if when I build a new one, if sandwiching pieces and adding mass will help.

For the same price as the BM'er airheads that are for sale around here, I'm seeing a ton of Merc 240D's...even though I don't have an enclosed area that big yet, I'm really tempted to get one as a WVO conversion platform...just to do it and finally go to a different fuel source.
