I said material independent, not shape independent. Although with subs that holds true as well.

To clarify the designed right: rigid/strong/absorbant/stiff enough to make sure it isn't coloring the sound. ie, CF wil still be thick, but obviously also still light. Analogy of a bike frame. Pretty easy to make a CF bike as strong as a steel one if you use enough material to make them the same weight. The art/science becomes when you start to remove material to make it perform the same but weigh less. Hopefully it is science, but people ignore the model/measure and instead just treat it like an art. Myself included. I have the gear to measure, but overbuild instead. Of course, I have no retail dollar amount my shit needs to cost per piece to sell at as much profit as possible. A little more money and less time completely works in my equation.
