I would not go to detroit unless it was a MASSIVE pay increase. As in HUGE. Maybe if the cost of living plus new rate of pay was 35-40% better so I could GTFO ASAP then maybe.... it would be really hard to get me to move out of MN, unless it was a transfer to the UK or and they paid moving costs etc.

Sean is already in a pretty 'bitchin location. Detroit would be such a waste, especially with two little ones. Two kids is a big part of the reason Dad came back to farm and got out of working 60-70hr weeks as an engineer. It went to 60-70hr weeks right at home.

I asked for more than $100k more, it sort of stopped that negotiation.

For an "extra" 100k you could have a local apt, have the fam live in an awesome rural area, completely max out your 401/k or 403/b, and have some nice spending cash on the side.

Wasn't really Detroit either, but Ann Arbor which is tolerable.

Actually location of my choice as they were moving the office. Figured that way works and just have a cruiser down on the lake.

Well I made it home to assess my damage. Holes in siding and sofit blown off. The house next to me that I take care of has some busted windows. Received a call from the spook family they had a large tree down and we helped the fire company clean it up from across the road. It was like inches from hitting their Tahoe.

Guess I will call the insurance company in the morning. I could use new siding.
