I was up at reddington pass one weekend shooting, guy pulls up, sets a piece of metal out 50 yards, shoots it with an ar15, doesn't go through, fires an ak47 and blows a hole right through.

Then he says "That's the armor from my Humvee back in Iraq, and this (ak) is what their shooting us with...

Yea e've messed with them. The 7.62 round they use is pretty lethal shit.

    Yeah, we have a sig 556 and ruger mini30 (762), pretty different rounds.

    I haven't followed anything in the firearm worlds for years, but I know they were trying to make popular an "in between round" that was supposedly the best of both worlds, 6.8 or something.
