IF the experience matches it is way more important. A degree is a huge plus and a filter for many HR departments though

Amusingly I am the only one in my company without a Masters or PhD (besides office "staff") and more amusingly they all work for me.

I use to have a friend who was really into art, he was in the art class with the serious teacher, while I had the "goof off" class. I would always bop in his class and tell him: "Oh that's so artsy!" He would get so pissed.
