Just kinda curious to see if anybody has ever heard or dealt with both the Mach 5 Audio MLI-65 and the AA Carbon Fiber 7" midbass speakers, if so any reviews input would be appreciated.

pretty sure theres a review for the mli's in the review section atleat. or check out zaph's website. Zaph|Audio

yeah I read all the reviews on both speakers under there respected company sites and on zaphaudio.com. I wanted some personal experiences or input on somebody who has dealt with both of them and see if there are any pros/cons between the two thats all. I do research before I post!

I like them both. They both work very well for me.

Kinda curious as to why you have both sets in the car. Is one playing more of a midbass for you and the other one midrange? If you were doing an install and had to pick one over the other which one regardless of price (looking to use them for midbass crossed from 60/80hz up to 1500 hz or higher). Thanks

They both share the same signal, but are in different air space. I was suprised how well they sounded together. They are crossed at 67hz and up on the hu.

The mli is in the lower pocket of the door panel sealed off from the AA. The AA is in the stock location useing the rest of the door. I was just playing around one day and suprised myself.

To answer your question of which. I plan on getting 2 more sets of the AA for the wifes 4runner and taking the mlis out and useing them in the house.

What is the RTMS section out of curiosity?

Not sure but maybe read the manufactures section

I love the MLis. I wouldn't suggest them in a 2-way, but they are superb midbass drivers and can also serve sub duty if need be. I had mine mounted in the door sealed and they rolled off around 2.2K last time I RTA'd it. Could have just been the application though. I just let them run wide open on the top and crossed my B&Gs at 2K.

I agree they are nice little midbass drivers. I was suprised my self at how they sounded with the AAs. Maybe I got lucky not sure.

I keep getting the white screen of death.

Snow??

It's a special section only certain members can visit.

Only the cool members ;)

No it is not snow :). It was happening the other night too.

Kinda curious as to why you wouldnt run them in a 2-way setup.

They fall apart in the mids. Fine for many, but I like transparent voicing in the midrange and that wouldn't be their strength. Super hard to match them with a tweet that is worth a shit without going large format too. Sure the Seas is fine, the Scan-speak stellar, but I'd make my compromises elsewhere setting up a 2 way. Midbass though they are machines at.

I love a great midrange and dont want to lose that. I have been thinking of running them with some horns and try to tame them as much as possible. Do you think the AA 7" Carbon Fiber Mids would be good in a 2-way system with a tweet or would it be along the same lines (the make-up of the AA makes it look possible)?
